Darn it.... you just reminded me to pick up a new calender, purelife. I gotta get one soon. Maybe one featuring naked firemen or something like that.

Uhm.... you can actually clear snow off roofs?

Oh dear, SD. I hope your grandma is alright. Keep the faith.[/DIV]

Crap.... can one possibly get a mini hangover from a wee glass of wine? My head's pounding since this morning and all I had was a damn glass of wine. I NEVER drink but it was for that one night with friends.

it might be possible if one is not a normal drinker, it depends if you were dehydrated the night of your wee little drink and perhaps you had a high sugar content that day from to many sweets so a sugar withdrawal combined with a bit of dehydration could possibly lead to a hangover... either way.. hope you feel better soon.

I agree with orik. if you dont drink that often it could affect you in that way.

We had a secretary in Yantai where we were for awhile getting a vessel built. We took her out to a big dinner one night and we decided to have a round of b52 shots. She had one and within ten minutes she was singing along to commercials on the tv above the bar and within the hour she was dancing on the table. She didnt make it to work the next day cause she had a headache and felt sick. that was the very first alcoholic drink she ever had.

Is everyone still doing good? My brothers now home from whistler. Said some restaurants up there wanted 150 per person to let people in there. not including food or drinks. Thats retarded.

Meat is NOT bad for the liver. Meat protein is essential for a healthy liver as well as for the healing of the liver.  (Red meat in slight moderation).  Total vegetarian and macrobiotic diets are energy depleting for those with liver ailments or Hepatitis C and are not recommended by most holistic professionals.  Six small meals a day, heavy on the colourful veggies, whole grains and moderate amounts of meat.

As for your mushroom caps, mushrooms are good for liver healing.
They have glutamic acid which is needed to produce glutathione that help with liver detoxification.  I guess it depends on what you're loading them up with.

Orik

thanks chomp chomp... ur making more sense to me than the damned specialist...i guess i should state the doctor said no bacon cheese burgers which is my ultimate favorite dish when i can afford it, it was a weekly ritual...

the doctor also said no strange mushrooms meaning none i do not know the origin of, or ones i have never tried b4.. so basically i can only stick to basic mushroom like money mushrooms... but their are so many intriguing variates at T&T market that i want to try yet.

theirs the dried ones that are in the noodle cups i used to eat from nong shim now on my not allowed list cause the salt content in the instant noodles is to damn high.

i also have to go easy on spiced foods, i have been told to stay away from hot and spicy dishes... which upsets me more than a little, cause i love my jalapenos, red chilies, green chilies,  my assorted Tabasco sauce, Louisiana sauce, frank red hot buffalo sauce and wide variety of Cajun dishes oh and do not forget the black pepper...

as for the stuffed mushroom caps they are stuffed with seafood such as shrimp or muscles, scallops & or oysters... plus a little garlic and some cheese...

now i can eat some things but  i can not eat others . basically it is my raving, cravings that are driving me mad, cause i can not have what my body is craving due to either A. finances or B. cause it has to high a salt content and i have been told to not eat it... or C. it is to spicy. no why the hell can i not eat spicy foods for damned sakes ?

sighs

I was just reading, that there is something you can ADD to your diet, that will assist in dropping a few pounds.  As that is one of MY New Years resolution, I will be trying it.

A piece of whole grain bread and olive oil BEFORE your large meal of the day (dinner or lunch...whichever is your 'big' meal) apparently stimulates 'gemlins'.  This is the chemical that triggers the brain to recognise when one has had sufficient food.  Drinking a glass of water does almost the same thing, but not with the efficiency of the whole grain and olive oil.  Go figure.

Orik

sounds good pc, will have to try that drinking a large glass of water before eating a meal trick

speaking of water I got my water delivery from Canada springs but they forgot my water cooler sighs... now i have to wait 2 more weeks for a water cooler to hold the jugs of water...

pathetic service & for this i pay 30 dollars a month what a crock of crap but with the home delivery it is still cheaper than taking a cab home from superstore and their is no need to man handle 16 liter jugs of water either

Do you drizzle the olive oil on the bread, PC or have them separately?  That sounds like an interesting diet tip.  Do you have the link or book title that you could share with me?

Found a really healthy restaurant if you're not into carbs. Delicious. It's called [A href="http://www.clubzone.com/c/Vancouver/Restaurant/Stone_Grill.html"]Stone Grill[/A] and you cook your meat right on hot stones. No butter, no oil, no nothin'. I must say I was skeptical at first but it was awesome. Highly recommend.

Lise-I agree with your Stonegrill recommendation (it's in the Entertainment Book).  The quality is amazing, the hot rock thing is kinda fun....and yeah, it's low-fat too (but I'm not to fussed about that if I'm going out to eat-- we eat pretty healthily at home, so I don't mind a fat slurge if I'm in a restaurant....bring on the butter, sour cream and bacon bits pls)

Bleh- back to the real world tomorrow.  *cries* but I do badly need some office time to untangle my haphazard record keeping before handing it off to the accountant.

But first, I might be taking my grandmother to seniors' day at Zellers.
