You promised not to tell!!!11

For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

[ul][li]Supreme Master[/li][li]Omnipotent  Lord[/li][li]SuperDuper Poster God
[/li][li]Ruler Of All Space And Time[/li][/ul]I'm kidding. I don't know what comes next.

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I'm ironing my spandex tights AS WE SPEAK.....although, I'm not sure that's what needs ironing.

I think I'd do better to polish up my tiarra.  It still looks good.

A brilliant, witty man. I hear the book can be pretty depressing...[/div][div]
It is kind of (well very) depressing. But it really takes the wind out of complaining about money troubles. Reading that book I felt like the richest man in the world.

It helped in the early days to fix the calendar, and it caused Egyptian priests to chronicle ecplipses with such care that in time they were able to predict them. These two services I am prepared to acknowledge, but I do not know of any others

You know, it COULD have been very depressing, depending on the authors perspective.  But his drive and ambition was so uplifting and amazing.  His gusto for life and something better and his commitment and devotion to his family AS A CHILD....couldn't be more encouraging.

Was it a sad story....absolutely.   Did Frank McCourt see his life as sad ??  I didn't think so.  [/DIV]It was the best blend of bitter-sweet.

Well put PC. I feel the same way. He never really bemoans his situation that much he just gets on with it. He really is inspirational.

FC... He never really bemoans his situation that much he just gets on with it. He really is inspirational.[/DIV] [/DIV]THAT'S IT.  That's how I read it!!!!  [/DIV]I read a trilogy once (as an adult) that were 'Yearling Books'  *for young teens*.  It was the same kind of read.  It's a teeny embarassing that I enjoyed these books as much as I did, but they were written in the same vein.  Appreciating what we have and putting a fresh perspective on what WE think of as hardship.  I was just thinking that I'd like to read them again.  They really help sort out how we take our 'riches' for granted.....and sometimes I like a reminder. (if you got kids....they're called 'Booky')

P.C.

Ummm....That was actually me.  Apparently I timed out.

Yeah, I've spent the whole past few days feeling sorry for myself that I can't have my birthday present I'm saving for (video ipod) for another week. Jeez at least I don't have to beat the fleas outta my mattress I got from the Salvation Army, or get stoked to get a pig's head for Christmas Dinner.
It is good to keep perspective. My best friend's son is now recovering from cancer (it's removed and things are good now). That was a major league perspective check. If I'm having a crappy day I just look at my kids and be thankful we all have our health.

Cheers FC.  A reality check now and then is good for the soul.   G'night.
