[DIV class=ar-txt]N benign case of carbuncle, disease of coal, was detected at a Canadian of Saskatchewan (center) which had come into contact with a dead animal of this disease, announced Friday the ministry for the Health of this province.

A farmer of Melfort contracted the cutaneous shape of the carbuncle and is currently treated by antibiotics but its state is without gravity, according to an official statement of the ministry.

The man of about fifty years had a cut and came into direct contact with a dead infected animal.

"It is not a problem of public health significant. The cutaneous carbuncle is very different from the more dangerous case of pulmonary carbuncle", affirmed a medical person in charge for the province, Ross Findlater.

The last human case of cutaneous carbuncle listed in Canada goes up with a little more than 15 years.

A hundred infected cows were already indexed in the area of Melfort, and of many farms are in quarantine.

Last week, the Canadian Agency of inspection of food had detected cases of carbuncle in buffaloes of the territories of the North-West of Canada, and had announced that it inquired into possible cases in Saskatchewan.

The carbuncle, which touches the man as well as the animal, is an infectious disease caused by a bacillus (Bacillus anthracis) which is transmitted by inhalation or food. It can appear by cutaneous infections, a respiratory distress or serious digestive ignitions, mortals if they are not treated.
