Well the new schedule came out last week and George is moving his show to the CBC now. He'll be after Mansbridge now. I like George a lot. I watch his video clips on the cbc website. But his style fits more of the late night talk show type format. When you (any news network) are picking someone to be the 'face' of your news department you first have to say is how would this person handle a breaking news story. (like a 9/11). They have to show calm and good demenor. For example Peter Jennings did the best coverage of 9/11. Why? Because he was the only reporter inside the Munich Olympic complex in the attacks and was the main ABC correspondent in Isreal for years. He knew how to handle the story and said little as possible and kept calm during the entire ordeal. While over on NBC Matt Lauer repeatedly kept screaming "REWIND THE TAPE, LETS SEE THAT AGAIN, OMG, OMG, OMG, LOOK AT THAT PLANE!!!". Those are his exact quotes, he acted like a bafoon. Thats why I don't think Katie Couric is going to fail, I'm not against women anchors its just that she has a tendencey to smile into the camera. And the last thing anyone needs during the crisis is to see the newsreader smirk during a disaster. Aaron Brown use to do the same thing on CNN and he got axed in favour of Anderson Cooper.
