P.C.

I'll probably just go shopping.......HAHAHAHAAAA.....just kidding.

This is my new roof fund.  What a killer......TEN THOUSAND BUCKS for a new roof !!!!!!   I can't stand it.  (It's right up there with the costs of dentistry.)

Are you getting someone to install it, or are you doing it yourself?  This sounds like another PROJECT to me.  And I know you love projects.

Sportsdude

Never heard of someone installing a new roof themselves.

P.C.

If I could, I would.

I've done a half a dozen roofs before.  It's really easy work, but with the pitch of our roof, this one ain't going to be no picnic.  I went up there once to clean my chimney......NEVER AGAIN.  I was petrified.  I'm not big on the height thing.  Plus, I think we've decided on the 'tin roof'.  It took me a long time to consent to this one, but I think it's the way to go with all the fallout every season in amongst the trees.

Tin roof?

Tin does sound like the way to go.  Easier to clean, and I imagine it is long-lasting.  I helped install a roof once, but like you, I find heights really bothersome.  I can go up a ladder, but coming back down terrifies me.

Maybe you don't have them there, SD, but they do exist.  Very practical.

nope no tin roofs here, only places I've seen with tin roofs they're old rusted out homes. And old rusted out barns down on the farm.

Sportsdude

what would the roof look like?

P.C.

Something like this SD....but they look better on 'rustic' homes

Like this, maybe.  I don't know what style has been chosen.

Wow!  That's beautiful, P.C.  Much better than the pic I found.

ahhhhh okay.

I was thinking old rusty barn.

But isn't it going to be loud with all the rain? My grandma's retirement complex double wide in Florida has a tin roof, its loud.

I'm OK with the sound.  I'm in heaven with the sounds of rain on the roof. (I've done some investigation on how this lovely sound is on metal.....lol)  It's wonderful.
