I don't enjoy anything... it's the only way to be truly happy in this life.  Don't love, don't hate, don't feel... indifference is your salvation.

I don't need lines... I have excellent technique:  I begin by ostracising the person in question through insult or self-depreciation (and that was an intentional flair of paraphasia), then once I've dented my image in that persons eyes, I up the charm... works every time

I've never seen that.  I've never seen anything.  I only ever watch things like Under Siege, and every Jean Claude Van Damme film ever made.

I was a fairly precocious youth.  When I was about 9, I wrote quite a lot of seethingly serious essays on... well, existence, death, love etc etc, as I suppose everyone does at some point... this continued until I was about 14 ish... I was really very intelligent for my age... but at that point, I began to realise the futility in taking anything serious.  Intelligent discourse was rare at best... I've been ejected from more academic insitutes than I can call to mind, purely for possessing a greater insight than those in educational custody of me... Life is against me...

... then I grew up and decided Beer and shoddy action films RULE!  And girls are HOT!  I love to shag GIRLS!  And lots of em!  WUHUH, and all that.  No more philosophising for me... nah, sophistry is the way to go.  Annoyance.  Casuistry.  These are the things I live for.

You don't think I'd settle for just you *blushes*

LOL @ The only difference is that in the US you're allowed to carry a gun for protection against bears, pumas and meth-addled hillbillies when you venture into the wilderness.  In Canada you trust your personal safety to a spray bottle of mace.

Thanks for that, I'm all the more educated for it.  And whilst you were composing it, DV came back online, I sent you a PM to enquire as to where you were, and another 0.000002% of the polar ice-cap has melted into the ocean.

I'm also impressed by your faculty for prosaic reviews... I appreciate the effort that has gone into that.  I was especially fascinated by the black squirrels.

We're back up and running on DV

Ha, no vote I see!  I take it you were going to vote Academe?

Yea, well, I'll host the vigil, if you like.  It's only 10:15am here, so I've got tonnes of awakednessness left in me yet.  And I have Lucozade too.

Yea, that's a terribly good breakdown of the two boards, actually.  The ephemeral nature of DV does make it incredibly interesting, whereas DS seems gather traffic from people looking for sensible conversation only.  I miss DV.

Okay, polls are good.  DV is missing out spong-style without polls.

There's nothing more accomodating than virgin territory, that's for sure.  I feel the same way about you.  Have you gone to bed now?  You haven't responded in quite a while.  You really should let me know when you've gone to bed, at least then I can substantiate my imagery.

Awww... Academe is so cute... I like him very much.

So, to which faction do your loyalties abide, Raging Poodle?  Are you primarily DV or DS... or are you one of these neutral types?

Well, I had banked upon relinquishing criterion into the possession of the patriotic masses... but, since you draw the specifics from me;

  Weather

Societal Harmony

Health Services

Sporting Accomplishment

General Standard of Dress

Average Height

Level of Chestnut Devotion

Wow, that's an awesomely nicey thing to say.  You know, if things had worked out differently, and you'd have been better-looking, I think we could have been onto something good.  As it is, it's still pretty good - but, oh, to think of what it could have been.

Romance, who loves to nod and sing,

With drowsy head and folded wing,

Among the green leaves as they shake

Far down within some shadowy lake,

To me a painted paroquet

Hath been - a most familiar bird -

Taught me my alphabet to say -

To lisp my very earliest word

While in the wild wood I lie,

A child - with a most knowing eye.

I would reiterate what most of the predeceased posters have stated... but in furtherment, it seems to me that it is not so much "your mans" insecurity about pink, as your own insecurity about what your man - wearing pink - might be prone to do or realise of himself... am I right?  Is he a bit of a lemon?
