That's the problem with addictive substances- they tend to re-prioritize a person's life. All the normal stuff (home, family, job) becomes secondary to the "getting high" part of the equation.
The high addictiveness is what astounds me. I'm seen interviews with crackheads who said that they "took a hot, felt the high, and that was it". Their new mission in life was to "smoke more crack".
