Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson compared NFL owners' treatment of players to "modern-day slavery," according to an online interview published today by Yahoo! Sports.
Peterson is set to make $10.72 million in base salary in 2011.
(That's $29,369 a DAY, or about $1,223.74 an hour.)
If you just count the length of time that's actually considered "football season" (mid August to January 1st), that's only 4 months. In that case he's making about ~$89,333 per day ($3,722 per hour).
Either way, that's not bad for "slave" wages.
If that's slavery, give me some. Hell, I'll be a slave like that for only $5 million a year.
truth to tell they do have Football Camp that is 2 to 3 months of the year all the time they spend in the gym etcetera.. the nfl pays big bucks compared to the CFL players but I hear that tehbork if that is slavery sign me up I will work for a lowly sum of just 2 million a year after taxes that is still 1.4 million cleared
"truth to tell"..................they all make to F ing much
