Any metal fans around here?

I love the old and new metal. I seen Metallica, Maiden, and Black Label Society last year.

I think Van is a Metal fan....but he seems to have skipped town too, since his trip to Italy in January.  Maybe he didn't come back.   I'mmore of a classic metal head.. but to be more honest i love almost all forms of music except gangster rap ( needs a c in front of it)  and polka which needs a extra o and to drop the lka part of its name.

[a href="vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hh_RyyRRqw"]Black Sabbath[/a] - Die Young is ok. but i have to admit i am more of a Ozzy fan than a sabbath fan.

ORIK!

Helloween! Cool. keeper of the seven keys 1 and 2!

I like a lot of 80s metal too. 80s Metallica! (although I was born in the 80s), I still love that music from that time.

  Testament, Slayer, Exodus!

  Megadeth Rust in Piece

  Celtic Frost!

Toronto's own Killer Dwarves. haha.

I enjoy hard rock too like Deep Purple, Skid Row, Bad Company

I love a lot of new metal too. In Flames, Lamb of God, Slipknot.

Really digging the newer Metallica too. Death Magnetic is back to the basics.

the music genre has changed a lot since the 80's so have I am no longer a angst filled with teen anger, hence i no longer need so much metal to make me feel better. so my music taste is much more eclectic encircling and branching out to many other artists of the multitude of musice forms to listen to..

a lot of the new stuff is very influenced by the 80s metal. Dragonforce! I thought they were from the 80s haha.

My teen years are gone too, I just like metal for the power. I can't have beers with my bud's, play pool, and crank up Rhianna. lol. I am too blue collar.

When I am uploading music. I would rather have UFO or Maiden on my groove than any pop music out today. Most of my grad class are plastic.

I listen to metal once in a while when I'm in that mood where my adrenaline is at a high and I feel like I want to smash someone's head in.  I'm not violent in real life, in case anyone is wondering.

I like Nirvana (are they Metal?), Pearl Jam, Metallica and 1-2 songs from Marilyn Manson.

Nirvana isn't metal, but they are very cool. Killed hairspray rock dead!!

Kurt Cobain knew how to rock. I wish I was a teenager in 91, haha.

What genre of music does Nirvana, Linkin Park, Lighthouse, U2, Nickelback, etc fall under?

  Alternative?

Nirvana was grunge. Although the term Grunge was a media made term to describe the early 90s Seattle rock movement. Interviews with Nirvana, they never referred to their music as grunge. Grunge was something that built up on a toilet rim. They referred their music as rock.

Linkin Park is just a NuMetal, or New rock.

U2, classic and new rock.

Nickelback and Creed seem to be the leaders of the post grunge world. I consider them plain ol rock.

Lighthouse I am not sure what they sing?

Everyone disses Chad Kroeger these days. As far as I can tell, they (Nickelback), are good ol Canadian boys, jeans and t-shirts, beers and guitars kind of guys.
