SD, can the US President declare war?  Isn't the Senate control by the Democrats who will have the final say whether to go to war or not?

President can send troops to fight somebody, but takes Congress to make it official, but then again they never made Iraq official. McCain could use that law as a loophole. What's Congress going to do? Vote against the troops? lol

They never made Iraq an official war, so who cares about the constitution anyway, it's just a piece of paper.

Personally I don't think either one will make a difference......what have each done during their time in the Senate to demonstrate leadership for changes that each is promising now

It also seems the world, not just the USA, but the entire world is on some kind of downward path at such a fast rate, there isn't much one president will be able to do. Even if they were genuine.
