How much do you pay for a gallon of gas, and where are you? (approximately)
It's $2.70 to $2.90 in most of Seattle.
Um...I think it's something like $2.59 down here in Monterey. Luckily I don't use gas, but if I did I'd be steamed.
I think that it's a $1 and a few cents now. I haven't checked lately.
$2.47 @ Costco in the East Bay
Oh yeah, I forgot you lived down this way!
How's life, dude? (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/19.gif)
great!..........sun's out.......continous reminder in the news that we live above a fault is worrisome. How you doing?
*looking out window*
Woah! You're right!! About time...
I'm doing Ok. I'm considering whether I should try to get some work done or just f*ck around online all day...
Earthquakes. I haven't thought about that in a while. We actually have a fault or two down this way as well, but not like the good old BA. Where I grew up in Berkeley was 100% landfill. Wheeeee!
I live on 100% fill also....the Bay is just outside my back door. The last major quake was in 1906 and everyone is saying a major quake occurs every 100 years.
Well, with all the quake upgrades and your highly skilled fire department I don't think the next big one will do quite so much damage. My understanding is that in 1906, most of the deaths and damage was from the ensuing fire and not the initial quake. Hopefully your building is solid?
I don't know what the equivelant and everything is, I never could understand gallons??
anyways, I own a VW diesel. In 2002, price of diesel was around 39 cents/lt.
Today, it is around 85.9 cents/lt. in Calgary. Blechhh!!
Ah! Hey, is there any sort of support for bio-diesel up your way??
There is a little support for it. With these towering oil companies around here, the overshadow a lot of smart ideas.

sorry^, I couldn't find a more recent link. There is amazing potential with the vast farmland that surrounds this city.
Yup. But you know some people reclaim oil from fast food restaurants and whatnot to make bio-diesel. This is oil that would otherwise be dumped somewhere and I think it's a fantastic idea.
Yeah, it is fantastic. So many good ideas, a lot are just simple too! I seen some of those used french fry oil run cars on TV. The students that helped work on it said the worst part is they keep getting a whiff of fast food and get the munchies. haha.
I would totally go there if I could find a relatively new diesel vehicle that is fairly small. Oh, and a local co-op is sort of key...
1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.785 411 8 litre
so,if gas is 103.10 (it is near our office today!) that would be...
$3.89 cdn a gallon
$3.89 cdn a gallon is = $3.35 a gallon US
or .12 cents US / per gallon in caracas.
or close to $6 US / per gallon in the Netherlands.

actually I hope my house gets burned down in an earthquake before its knocked down.....I have fire insurance but no earthquake insurance
I don't know why the govt of Canada hasn't talked about ethanol or grain fuel. It could work in Canada unlike the U.S. simply because of the population and saskatchewan. Brazil for example next year will announce they are energy independent. They run on sugar cane. The government has to force companies to do things or they aren't going to do them.
it is being implemented in canada,it already is blended into many fuels.
it is also recieving support in the US sportsdude!

You bet. I have a Passat and its a little too much of an engine for me. I like the power, but don't need it. I am not in need of a fancy car. I am actually going to sell it and buy something smaller, this spring. Maybe a Diesel Golf? Still looking at options. Any suggestions? Something with a 4 cyl., not 6. I actually rarely drive it on weekdays. Its usually only used weekends to go to the mountains. I need something big enough for some camping equipment and a couple snowboards. Overhead compartment is a must. Also I walk to work, grocery store, pubs, coffee shops, so I save on a lot of fuel from Mon - Fri.
Out my way it's 1.0607 per litre. I'm glad I have a little car. But the price drops a penny or two at night so that's when I fill up. Still outrageous, though.
average price of regular gas around Calgary is 96.9. It is supposed to be well above $1.20 by July though. Sick!
I thought Alberta was supposed to be a lot more cheaper than that, CK. Last time we paid, it was around the 117 cent/litre mark. Outrageous. Expect higher cost in the summer months.
... all the more reason to buy a motorcycle!
Its 2.67 a gallon down here. And people are still bitching.
Three or four bucks and I'm set for the week! I'm getting about 80 miles to the gallon with my lil' Aprilia SR50

(that's not me-they can't do that in stock form)
