i have a problem with my sansa. i connected it to the USB port on the screen is said USB Connected but a cannot access it. i check windows explorer and it is not in there i checked windows media player(i used to upload music) and on the right hand side it still say connect a device i canot access the device. i\ and i cannot find no icon to click to access it
i had the same problem with my sansa, different model though. Did you get yours wet, they pretty much become useless piles of junk, if they get a soaking. even if you do the, plastig bag and rice drying trick, then use a hairdryer the next day they never dry as good as new...
when the water gets in to the circut board and into the flash memory some problems that can occur, in example the radio on mine, is now all screwy it can take up to 10 minutes of random scanning to find a station to listen to. and forget the mp3 player being reliable, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, not to mention the jumping from low to high volume
or you just might have a drive letter not being recognized or showing up. in that case you might want to go to start , settings, control panel, administrative tools, then click computer management then you will want to click removable storage or disk management and see if it is listed in those as a drive needing to be formatted.
The kicker is when you plug your sansa mp3 player in, does the power to the mp3 player turn on if so then it can possibly be still used and made to work. mine functions but is not very reliable any-more. you can also go to settings and change the usb settings to auto detect smart menu and other feature. time to play around and see what you can do.
if none of the above helps perhaps it is time to purchase a new one with how cheap mp3 players are now, you can purchase cheap mp3 players from many different places, the following mps and mp3 with video are from Walmart Canada
[span class="productName"]Hip Street Digital MP3 Player 2 GB In Support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation[/span]
[img]vny!://www.walmart.ca/servletimagedownload?size=1&imageid=73688"]
there are many others for cheaper, just look around it all depends on what you want your MP3 payer to do
this is the one i am thinking about purchasing next month. it is a bit pricier than some otehr mp3 video players but it is still less expensive from other kinds. However i have not heard many reviews for this product. but i think the almost 3 inch screen will make long boring shifts @ dead sites a thing of the past.

Just don't buy a ipod nano then have it drop off the work desk and you accidentally kick it down a hallway and under a radiator, it flew faster than some hockey pucks...the screen on mine is busted...plus it has a significant dent in the corner where the headphones plug-in. I found a place that offers to repair all thinks ipod cheap... it is Irepair in north Vancouver Canada, the link is [a href="vny!://www.irepair.ca/"]vny!://www.irepair.ca/[/a]
and thats my little spam for the day .
