Title: Shopping in Seattle
Post by: lalala on Jun 30 08 05:17
I'm from Vancouver and I'm going up to Seattle in the next couple of weeks.  What are the best stores down there?  My faves in Vancouver is Aritzia, Plenty and Vivid.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There was a thread in here somewhere on the best places to shop in Seattle, but can't seem to find it.

Most people on here are also from Vancouver, but many have shopped there....but also many are away this weekend.

Not too much help, was I.  (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

You would probably enjoy any of the malls in Seattle....like Southcenter.
 [a href="vny!://www.westfield.com/southcenter/index.html"]vny!://www.westfield.com/southcenter/index.html[/a]
Good selection of stores, easy to find without driving downtown.

 Better deals at the Outlet

That's my fave....South Center.  (although I can never remember the name until someone says it)  That place goes on forever.

Edit:  Well....just checked it out closer.  There's not a LOT of info there.  I know there's another thread, but the 'search' is......um.....well it's not great.

Just checked that old thread :)
The first page or two is about shopping...before it digresses into who knows what... :)

Thanks everyone for all the information.  Greatly appreciated. :)

A couple more questions... is South Centre better than Pacific Place?

&&& is Victoria Secret actually really good?  They have so much on their web site but I can't tell if it's awesome.  We have La Senza here and IMO I find it sort of over-rated.

Also, what is the best spa in Seattle?  I would like to go to one.

Thanks again for all your input.

I'm not a shopper. Although I somehow spent 30 bucks on socks.

Although I do like walking the premium outlets, although it involves myself marvelling at the outdoor mall design which I'm a huge fan of, imagining how I'd invision communities like the mall.  This then leads me to cracking jokes about closed malls and how its the downfall of society (nobody likes 1980s style closed in malls anymore, people like to be outside now, finally). lol Seriously though, premium outlets you're outside, walking around, breathing air, no headache. Metrotown, 10,000 people, can't breathe, headache.

Another great outdoor mall 'community' is in downtown Salt Lake City. Everybody is now finally got their heads on straight and is trying to copy old style Europe shopping or pre-world war II community layouts where you walk everywhere.

I probably wrote something like that, in the shopping thread. ;)

[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"]Hi lalala -

I can offer some input on this question.  I think Victoria Secret owns La Senza (or maybe the other way around) because I've seen a few things at LaSenza that I've seen at VS.  Honestly, I don't like the quality at these two stores but VS seems to have more selection than LaS.

Their body sprays smells nice though. :)

I haven't been to Pacific Place in years....if I'm even thinking about the right mall.  The really upscale one near the monorail station downtown?

The Victoria's Secret store doesn't have the clothing that the catalog/website have- just the lingerie and some loungewear.  But...better quality than La Senza IMHO.

Thanks for the info purelife and Lil Me.

Does VS have a good selection for bikinis though?  That's the reason why I would like to go there.  Probably for PJ's and lounge wear too.

What's the best place to buy Seven's and Citizen jeans?  The only stores I see is Nordstroms and Barneys.  I thought they may be more reasonable than Aritzia in Vancouver.

Also, is there a good place for sunglasses (brand names that are nicely discounted) in Seattle?

Any good spas there?  Seriously, I just don't know where to start.

Sorry for all the questions. :(

No, the VS stores don't have swimwear.

 Sunglasses at the Premium Outlet.

lalala, Victoria Secret clothing (unless it's changed in the last 10 years) is of the best quality that I've seen than most clothing lines.  Their selection of bikinis is incredible.....on-line...don't know about the stores.  I've shopped VS on-line lots, and they are super helpful on the phone, great (and easy) return policy. (don't know about swimwear)  And of course they're very secure and credible to shop on-line with as well. although shipping and handling is no longer any bargain.

Nordstrom is expensive. I don't know about you but all I could come out from that place is a hat for the little own. I was surprised to find children's clothes as high as $80 (Juicy Couture?) and on a sale rack.

If you're looking for clothes, I'd just stop by the Premium Outlets. Once you hit there, you'll never want to shop anywhere else.

Victoria Secret at the Pan Pacific Mall, I think it's on the 3rd floor. It's so-so IMHO. I find the intimate selection at good old Bay as adequate. Oh, if you're heading there, there's a really awesome Japanese place called Todai on the fourth floor. Good buffet.

Spa treatment? Oh, just pick up any pamphlets or booklets at any hotels for info.[/DIV]

TJ Max and Ross are good places for GREAT bargains as well.  (Ross's is my fave)

P.C. and Lise thanks for the information.

Does ROSS have a lot of sizes?  One of my friends told me to check it out... they got two pairs of 7's for $7 each.

So with VS, bikini's can only be bought on-line?  I'm not sure I'll know if it fits me... plus, I wouldn't think you would be able to return it afterwards.

Does Seattle have a gucci store?  If not, which would have the largest selection?  Probably premium outlets?!

TJ Maxx and Ross have a lot of everything-- think Winner's but bigger, cheaper, and more stuff.  Takes a bit of digging, but you can find good things :)

Because it's the U.S.- I'll warn you....you will find a lot of shockingly large pieces of clothing...

lalala - I've seen Seven jeans (One for all Mankind) at Costco's downtown.  I have also seen other brand name ones (can't remember the names) for almost half the price at Aritzia.  I don't think they are there anymore but they do have other brand names.

I totally recommend Ross and TJ Maxx.  I could never find any clothes there but if you don't mind digging up piles of clothes, then, it's for you.

Premium Outlets would definitely have the brands you're looking for.  It's definitely more trendy and have more selection.

I think (but unsure) that Nordstrom do carry Gucci brand. I'm confusing the store with Macy but I'm like 80% sure they do carry it.

I haven't come across a Gucci outlet at the Premium Outlets.

If you're looking for bikinis, the Ralph Polo Factory outlet has some awesome stuff and they cost something like $40 US only.

Lots of people from work are telling me to go to this place in DT Seattle called Anthropologie?

Has anyone gone there before?  What's it like?

As for Seattle Premium, I think the only store I like in there will be Coach.  Probably do a lot of my shopping at Bellevue Square believe it or not.  It seems they have a lot of uniquey stores like Vivid.
