[FONT size=6]Fifth human foot washes ashore[/FONT] Another human foot has mysteriously washed ashore in the Lower Mainland.
The left foot was recovered at 10:30 a.m. yesterday in Fraser River off Westham Island in Ladner. It is the fifth mysterious foot that has washed ashore in less than a year.
"The Delta Police Criminal Investigation Section is working with the B.C. Coroners Service to establish identity and is liaising with outside agencies to determine if this is linked to the other partial remains recovered in the recent past," said Delta Const. Sharlene Brooks in a release yesterday afternoon.
Last month, a foot washed ashore on Kirkland Island, also in the Fraser River, while in February, one was found on Valdez Island between Vancouver Island and the Mainland.
In August, two Size 12 right feet washed up on Gabriola and Jedidiah islands.
The previous four feet were all wearing socks and runners.

Are they like old feet or recent feet with flesh still on them???
Are they from someone young or old? You would think they would have an idea of who they are from?
im just wondering if these feet r in anyway related to the young men who have been going missing in the lower mainland. and wondering if we have a another serial killer on our hands who is killing men :( this i getting crazy 5 right feet and now a left foot. and if this left foot is unrelated to the dna of the right feet that means we have at least 6 possible murders on our hands i wonder just what the hell is goin on.... damn
[span]Here's a theory:
Source: [a href="vny!://waterworlds.wordpress.com/2008/03/15/24-weird-water-stories-the-case-of-the-floating-feet/"]vny!://waterworlds.wordpress.com/2008/03/15/24-weird-water-stories-the-case-of-the-floating-feet/[/a]
According to Professor Curtis Ebbesmeyer ([/span][span]Washington[/span][span]), right shoes take a different course from left shoes when lost at sea. Ebbesmeyer's ideas have an important bearing on the case of three severed left feet (still wearing trainers) found on beaches near [/span][span]Vancouver Island[/span][span] in recent months. [span] [/span]Canadian police, quite naturally, suspect foul play. [span] [/span]The finding of one left foot may indicate that an unfortunate yet innocent boating accident has taken place. [span] [/span]Whereas an abundance of left feet appearing in so short a space of time could be suggestive of a more sinister ritualistic or criminal element at work – at least to the oceanographically-untrained eye. [span] [/span][/span] [span][/span][/p] [span]However, the oceanographically-trained eye of Ebbesmeyer detects a physical system at work here.[span] [/span]He believes that the left feet may simply have detached themselves from decomposing bodies in entirely unconnected boating accidents before floating away (still encased in buoyant training shoes):[span] [/span]"Left foot wear and right foot wear often tend to wash up at different times at different places because they float differently. There are beaches that collect mostly rights and other beaches that collect mostly lefts. The winds of the currents sort out left and right foot wear."[span] Meanwhile, b[/span]ack at [/span][span]Vancouver Island[/span][span], the latest word from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is that the case is still regarded as "very unusual". [span] [/span]The police have recently revealed that two of the feet are size 12.[span] [/span]Secrecy is being maintained over the size of the third. [span] [/span][/span][/p] [span][/span][/p] [span]Ebbesmeyer's body of oceanographic work (he is well-regarded for his [a href="vny!://waterworlds.wordpress.com/2008/04/16/28-weird-water-stories-case-of-the-rubber-ducks/"]rubber duck studies[/a]) is definitely worth a [a href="vny!://beachcombersalert.org/"]read[/a]. [/span][/p]
They think they might be coming from a plane accident on Quadra Island that they haven't found the bodies from. They are going to do DNA tests to see if they come from the passagers.
My first reaction was to scoff at such a notion.....right shoes taking a different oceanic route than left feet......but actually it makes sense.
Same with the plane crash victim theory.....didn't buy it right away. But with the absence of a lot of hopping people, I'm reconsidering the possibility. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
We could send this group to solve this mystery.

Great idea. Purelife could make a start on researching the origin of the shoes.
foot #6 just found.
Campbell River RCMP say another severed foot has been found near that community. It's the sixth foot to wash up in coastal B.C. in recent months. RCMP say the right foot in a size-10 black Adidas running shoe was found at Tyee Spit just after 10 this morning. The discovery was made by a person out for a walk.[/p]
OMG. Ja!!! I just read in the papers today that a sixth foot has been found. This is just too grisly. I keep wondering if somebody is playing a sick joke on the rest of us. This hype from the media isn't helping either. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Shocked/6.gif)
The media is having fun with us all. Especially CNN down here using words like "grizzly", "mysterious", "horrific" etc. I can't stop laughing, especially when it comes from the American press.

(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/10.gif) I for one, find it grizzly, mysterious and horrific and can't for the life of me find anything humourous about it.
I wonder if I missed my calling......CNN, here I come. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
Well it's funny for me. Because my mom gets freaked out and goes "OMG WHY ARE WE SENDING YOU TO SUCH A DANGEROUS PLACE, OMG" so I just start saying jokes and such.
It's funny because they're getting experts saying left feet float in one direction, right feet go in another, and that this could be from the tsunami etc. Then when you realize that a pile of junk the size of Rhode Island is randomly floating around in the Pacific Ocean who knows what's out there. Next week Amelia Earhardt will wash up on shore. lol

Yes....I suppose you could stay where it's safe. Just a little water lapping at your bedposts, while you wait for another tornado.
Bah we're high and dry here. lol
Well, that's good to hear SD.
Anyways.....must sleep. Long hard day.
Good night! Although if it floods here, you'll know the end of the world is near. ;)
That said the deer have been acting strange. They're bonking each other in Spring... and are running in circles in crop fields. (down on the farm this one buck just ran in a circle out in a corn field for 7hrs. Had to shoot it, psycho deer).
So as long as I avoid Zombie Deer outside I'm good.

The question I want answered is how many feet aren't we finding - i mean the coast of BC / Pacific north west is pretty sparsely populated - how many feet have been eaten by dog fish / orcas / ? how many are washed up under a pile of logs never to be seen again? how many are washed up on a deserted beach near the charlottes? how many feet are out there? why aren't the police releasing ANY information ??[/span]

[FONT face="Arial Narrow" size=4]why aren't the police releasing ANY information ??[/FONT]
I'm thinking it's because they don't really have any answers yet. DNA testing has not linked these feet with anyone that is connected to the plane crash...which was their first logical possibility. Excluding that.....it's a true mystery.
I do find it odd. They must have some other possible links. Lil Me's post about the theory of right and left feet travelling in a different manner, means that they would have some idea where to look for the left feet (maybe?).....so I would ask.....why isn't somebody looking. At the very least, there would be an odd sense of relief to know that there isn't a twisted, severed foot fetish guy out there ?
6 feet = 1 fathom, so why is the mystery so unfathomable? Something's definitely afoot.
Who's a clever Gophie !!!!! [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/c020.gif" border=0]
.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/1.gif)
That was a triple blesser !
It certainly is an interesting mystery. I only hope it turns out to be something without foul play involved. (and don't say anything about chicken feet)
The thought never crossed my mind.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/cliparts/10.gif)
They've stated thousands of times DNA testing takes months as they said this isn't CSI. They don't have any answers because they're waiting to do DNA tests and or in the process not because there isn't a match.
That's not totally accurate SD. They do have results from the first 3 feet.....and will have the profiles of the other 3 quickly......results have shown that their DNA profiles do not match any of the 2,317 people who have been reported missing durning the appropriate time frame.
The lag isn't in getting the DNA of the feet....it's in locating and gathering the DNA information from the families of the 2,317 missing people. Not exactly something that can be done over night I guess.
Well it could be anything. The fact that they're talking about that the feet could be from the tsunami is enough to think that this could be anything. I'm a naive hippie so I don't like jumping to we've got a serial killer who cuts off feet out there. The fact that they said the feet looked cut doesn't necessarily say to me "a ha! foot killer!" because things go chomp chomp in the water ya know.
Another thing, I think it's sad about ourselves when a foot or something washes on a shore the first thing we think of is serial killer. Are we that paranoid? If anything happens these days its always "this is not terrorism" in the media. It's like we're afraid of our shadows.
I don't know what the news is saying down there, but as fas as I've understood the story so far, is they stated from the beginning, that the feet did NOT appear to have been removed in an 'un-natural' manner.
CNN.
Said the last foot seemed to have been cut.
Then again its CNN famous for slandering countries not called the U.S. because it takes it upon itself to ridicule other nations so it can feel good about itself. Fox News does the same. They had a report once about how Vancouver was full of islamic terrorists waiting to attack America.
Seems like the last foot that was found was a sick trick ? I just heard a snippet....anyone know for sure ?
Add.....OK....just heard the whole story on the news. It was indeed a hoax. It was animal bones stuffed into the shoe. What a sick despicable individual.
Eeeoww..... that's disgusting. What kinda sick twisted mind would come up with that hoax. Honestly, some people should just wake up. This isn't funny.
Sad for the families of missing people for sure. And a waste of time for the police to be tracking leads from the results of a sick mind.
Too late to say its a hoax, CNN doesn't run follow ups.
Too late to say its a hoax, CNN doesn't run follow ups.
I'm not sure what that means.
CNN won't run a story saying it was a hoax and will retract the story. American broadcasters don't care if they spread libel about another country (same with the politicians here as well).
I must be thick tonight. CNN has already covered that the 6th foot was a hoax.
What am I missing here. [img onclick="selecte('eh.gif');" alt=emoticon src="vny!://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/blehnet/eh.gif" border=0]
They did? What time of day, which programme?
Didn't see it.
I just heard a DJ talking about it on Sirius radio. She said it is officially a sign of the apocalypse.
Normally I would scoff at such nonsense....but there is definitely something amiss. I can feel it. (I think I'm starting to sound like one of those weird old cat ladies.) [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/verschiedene/a096.gif" border=0]
LoL
The apocalypse is already here. Over the past weeks I've seen Deer trying to procreate, they're running in circles, sitting on the roads, standing in the middle of the road confused, all the doe's had twins and they lay out in front of people's homes after the sun is up and the owners of the house leave for work. They're not running away so to speak.
Its a mad mad world.
Anybody heard anything more on this ? Been pretty quiet about it the last week or so.
The BBC and the BBC World Service put it on a news rotation. So that covers a good couple hundred million folks. lol

I've been out of the loop for a bit - any news on the feet??
Hey Van Guy, how goes it? Two of the feet match, but they don't know who. I had to laugh a few weeks ago after they found the foot on Westham Island, the next day the traffic reporter in the CKNW helicopter said " We're just over Westham Island right now, checking out the foot traffic"

Well it goes. Monsoon season tend to be a tad damp and a tad warm, the leeches a bit intense (~100 in one day?!?!) but mostly pretty good.
There is a lot of fodder for jokes with regards to this story for sure. How's life with you ??
It goes good. On a week off and doing a kitchen reno/remodel (not ours) Miss P.C. is busy with it and I am building a new kitchen island for it. I had planned on bringing ot over today but it's taking a little longer than I had thought!

Sounds like fun! My last kitchen reno ended up quite good - we were living in calgary - we bought a handy man special - LM was rather pregnant - roof was leaking - drywall roof was apart - no running water up stairs - she is holding up drywall like a soldier using 2X4- the kitchen is torn up - it ended well but there were a few tears that night. Not that i'm ever reminded of the incident.
Wow, I've just heard that a seventh foot has been washed up.
Oh dear ! That's not good. I was just wondering about this story a couple weeks ago. It just seemed to fizzle out, with no real answers.
bwhaha yeah I'm the foot snatcher. ;)
*grabs for everyone's feet*
