24th Annual Discovery Day Festival. Burnaby's largest community festival for family fun and creativity. Free. Sunday July 20. 10am to 4pm.

Those are some good events for the summer. I have always enjoyed the Orchestra at Deer Lake. Excellent performances. :)
Yuppers, free. :) It's super busy and packed. Vancouver Symphony Orchestra does the performances. You don't need chairs. You just need to listen to the music unless you want to watch them play their instruments. You'll need something to sit on though. We usually just have a picnic there. I remember parking was hard to find.
