THIS just plain and simple, looks like a dogs' breakfast ! Even the handsome models can't make it into anything better.
They're trying to be European tennis players, I think.
Can you find Waldo?
I was dumbstruck when I saw this on the news. I understand that chances of liking all things are slim.....but this goes beyond like or don't like.......it's embarrassing.
yeah and the bigger story is that everything is made in China, which is causing an uproar.
Yup, those two look like they're wearing PJs. Roots was way cooler.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not
dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen
thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold
thee with the right hand of my righteousness"

Anything thee can do about those awful outfits ?[/DIV]
Hey Wisdom, do you have a modern translation at your disposal? I'm not a fan of the King James language. I'd prefer New International Version or Eugene Peterson's The Message. Please and thank you.
And when you get a chance, a cup of coffee. Thanks.
Hey Lil Me have you been able to read the bible front to cover? The farthest I could get was to the Psalms and then I'd always quit. I refuse to read Revelations, my church always held the belief that "who ever wrote that hideous chapter was high and it wasn't Jesus". lol
No. I get bogged down by the Old Testament.
Yeah, I'd of gone postal on God in the Old Testament.
pyscho
ugh that reminds me of Geography class and how cultures copy off of one another. For example during the time of Alexander the Great, Buddha was was white and looked Greek. All cultures copied off of one another. No story is truly original.
argh I can't think of the term now. shit.
hahaha I knew my insane remembering of what one teacher told me was "useless knowledge" obscure facts would kick in, I was thinking of Cultural Diffusion. lol
[a href="vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_%28anthropology%29"]cultural diffusion- vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_(anthropology)[/a]
Well then I'd like to give a big F-U to elistist UBC. I failed math in high school, but got A+'s in History and Geography and Civics class. The ACT said I was dumb, well basing one's intellegence on someone knowing Calculus is ridiculously pointless. I didn't build no rocket ship for a Science Fair but I was on the debate team...
anyway. The kids that have B and C averages end up ruling the world, the kids with A's never know what to do with themselves and ponder about life because they've always had it easy and say they're overqualified for low level jobs and move back to their parents basement.
lol my friend from Prince Rupert says its the University of BS. haha
The design team for the Olympic apparel ?

So, what exactly is that first pic? The olympic uniforms? Not surprising it looks like garbage unis. ha! last olympics did too.
Who the hell brought bible verses to the thread!? (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Angry/7.gif)
I think God is the only one who can DO something about those atrocities.
Roots used to do a good job of the Team Canada uniforms. Don't know what happened.
Wasn't '02 decent, but '06 was a joke?? for winter anyways.

lol why the smite? (I'm joking around the majority of the time on here, btw)
hmm UBC grad? No worries, you're still cool. I secretly want to go to UBC, but its for petty selfish reasons.

Ugh. Saw these outfits at the Bay for the Olympics. Wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.
I can live with that one over the 'dogs breakfast' one. Why the 888....shouldn't it be 2010 ?

That outfit looks like something monks would wear from the medieval pierod.
I wonder about where the positioning of that little emblem on the front might rest.

I know what you're refering to. That was the Gandhara School of art in ancient India, in which Hindu and Buddhist ( i.e. Indian ) themes were portrayed, but the dress and the physical apprearance of the people were Graeco-Roman. This was an indirect result of Alexander the Great's conquest of northwestern India. But in actuality, the historical Buddha quite possibly was "white" as you put it. Gautama Siddharatha was of the Scythian tribe, known as Shakyas in India. Which is why he is often called Shakyamuni: the Shakya sage.
Conversely, the actual Jesus probably looked more like a Saudi or an East Indian, because Jews in those days were more eastern. Double irony. We usually see Jesus portrayed as blond and blue-eyed, and Buddha as eastern-looking. In reality it might have been precisely the reverse.
Yea but....the outfit is still unsightly....right?
Jesus was a Palestinian and walked around with hijab. The Jesus you see at churches is a reflection of a Roman Jesus (sits on a throne, has a crown, judges) does that sound familiar? Christianity has taken not the real Jesus as depicted pre-Roman takeover but the Post-Roman view. A Roman Emperor decided what Jesus looked like, to reflect Romans.
