personally i don't think any rap/hip hop music will be popular or have lasting appeal. Anybody remember NWO? doubt it. People only know flava flav from a reality show.

ack not NWO NWA my bad.

badwordaz With Attitudes (west coast compton)
Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, and MC Ren

then Flavor Flav was east coast with Public Enemy
Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff, DJ Lord, The S1W

Then there was Run DMC (east coast)
DJ Run, Jam-Master Jay and D.M.C.

After the tupac and biggie wars the whole east coast west coast thing fell apart. Now you've got regions.
St. Louis scene represents the midwest (Nelly, St. Lunatics, Jqwon, Chingy)
Atlanta represents the dirty south type of rap (Outkast etc)
L.A.
N.Y.

Dr. Dre's protege so he's west coast.

the atlanta, houston, st. louis acts don't have anything in common with this L.A. versus N.Y. fued.
