Me too Michel..  I only recognize a very few.  (except I like the one by Savage Garden)

I wonder if a person gets to an age, where their musical taste hits a 'plateau'.  A place where their music comfort zone takes roots. (???)  Just a thought.

I know I lost interest in new music, because so much of it became so 'artificially generated'. By that I mean all the 'stars' that were born out of reality shows and competition, instead of succeeding by working their way to the top.  Names that became popular before their music.

[/DIV]I'm with you on that as well.  I like the 70's, 80's and 90's instead of the 2000 generation.

I'm not familiar with too many on this list.  We lived out in the country that year.

I do remember excessive radio play of Tubthumping and The Way that summer.  We were renovating a house in AB, and heard those songs every hour (at least..)

Time Capsule!  No way!  Here I was thinking you were like 60 years old.

Cool Michel. Music from the heart comes out every once in awhile, boardroom braindead fart rock kind of just keeps going.

I love music before my time too. Stuff I dig out of my mom's basement storage. Old vinyls of Pink Floyd, Beatles, Zeppelin. As for the 90s or newer, it is definately hit and miss.

  Good observations Michel.

I think where I tossed in the towel, was when I could no longer keep up.  Someone would come out with a sound that really appealed to me.  Then I'd hear another song by that person, I'd say....Oh, I like her sound....and someone would say..."that's not her".  Then another....then another and another.  Each one by a different person, but all with the same sound.

The last 5 years has been this thing where they take their voices up and down the scale ad nauseum.....they even murder the national anthems with the same stale trick.  If you heard one....you hear em all. No originality.

You know the band hasn't made a single penny from that song, even though the band and the stones had an agreement and were okay with it, the record label had other ideas.

P.C. if you like that song then you'd like Sonnet, Lucky Man and The Drugs Don't Work

Wasn't that song turned into a Nike commercial or something? That video for bittersweet is trippy. His eyes are messed!

Just thinking....I don't think I'm anti-cell phone.  I'm more anti-cell phone associated rudeness.   Like talking loudly into them in restaurants and the like, answering them when they are actually engaged in conversation with someone who is with them, erratic driving... excellerating then slowing to a crawl.....excellerating.....crawl....grrr.  Generally speaking, if I'm out....therefore busy.  However, I DO like the ability to reach out and touch someone in an emergency.

I can't believe there was a time where we didn't drive in our cars with a cell phone around. It's like now if you drive without your phone you're putting yourself in danger or something. lol

Anybody remember those box or bag phones, where you'd attach an attena onto the roof when you were talking? lol

Oh ja, I remember seeing them. Kinda funny when you think about it.

I'm addicted to my cellphone. Can't leave without it. On the other hand, ask me if I remember my cellphone number and I can't help you there. Aha.

Cell phones give many a false sense of security.  Reality is, even if you can make the call to 911 when being attacked, 911 is a joke - they don't know where you are and how long until they even can come to your rescue?  Last couple of times I've called 911 I was on hold for a minute.  Better to carry pepper spray and a telescopic baton, if worried about your personal safety.  But then any weapon you carry...

I found a Motorola Talkman in a lover's toy box.  Activated it about 15 years ago and paid an average of $300/month.  The contract was minimum $65/month with a 3 year contract.  It looked like this, and was as big as this:
