Crazy! Yes, big roller coaster fan here. Ever been to 6 flags Magic Mountain Los Angeles. So KEWWWL! Except the last time I was there was during a heat wave and I got a bit of heat stroke.
Er........ nope. I'm a chicken when it comes to anything like that. I like staying on the ground, thank you very much. Things like that... even watching the video makes teh Lise feel a wee bit faint. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Shocked/4.gif)
Haven't been to 6 Flags, Van. I sure like a good roller coaster.
They're building them faster and smoother and higher....yet nothing STILL compares to the old beater at the PNE. Took hub on it a few years back...he had never been on one. He laughed a laugh I have yet to hear again, from start to finish. It was great to see him take that first ride.
Then we went on the NEW big one....not half the thrill. It was faster....but the centrifugal force and the over the shoulder across the chest lock down, kept you too immovable. Not near as great a thrill.
Methinks you should try the [A href="vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uQpXzw8piw"]Python[/A] at Busch Garden. I couldn't even look at the roller coaster while I was there.
Ooooo...looks writhey and twisty ! Can't see myself getting to Africa any time soon....lol
The Python is actually in Florida, it's one of those African style theme park. The name says it all, twisty - actually VERY twisty and the best part is that you're hung from your seats. Literally. There's no bottom so you're strapped from the shoulder up. Makes for an interesting ride, I guess.

OH BOY !!!!!! (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/2.gif)
(makes me want to dig out my old Roller Coaster Tycoon)
oooohhhhh! That looks like a great ride. Finally a reason to go to Toronto!
I went to Canada's Wonderland once- in 1985. That was the year the stand-up coaster was new (the one where you stand up perched on a bicyle seat). It was pissing with rain that day... the kids had a blast on the rides and the adults sat in the bar.
Never been to Busch Gardens. But a few years ago, Heckyl saw an ad for Marine World (Niagra Falls) on tv and commented, "That looks like fun, but why would anyone want to go to NIGERIA?" lol I explained to him that it was NIAGRA-in Canada.
Awww...too cute. Out of the mouths of babes.
I bet I could have guessed you were a roller coaster fan.
Oh yes, the old wooden one at the PNE. It has been years. It is just scary because you really don't feel like you are secured in enough.
Yea !!!! That's the ticket Van. You get tossed around and come right to a standing position in some of those drops. The new ones are too 'homogenized'. The thrill is smoothed and tethered right out of them.
I haven't been on a roller coaster in years, sort of got tired of going on them after I almost blacked out on one of the fastest/longest in the world in Six Flags Chicago. meh, Its something you do as a kid, then get tired of it, only to have kids who then want to go on these rides, so you to tag along again. lol

Ahem....tag along ? I lead the way....and I'm not tired yet. I'm simply hopeless at this growing up thing. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/d030.gif" border=0]
I'm scared of rollercoasters... *shiver*
well you become re-interested in it because your kids are. Same with sports, I can't watch sports on tv anymore, I don't follow teams anymore. Then again when kids come along they'll want to go to games, they'll listen to sports radio, read the sports section in the newspaper, watch tsn/espn/sportsnet etc. So you've then got be interested in it as well.
once the kids stop becoming interested in things, parents tend to stop doing things like going to see a baseball game with dad or something.
I love roller coasters, with or without kids around. I never been to Canada's wonderland though. Just 6 flags LA.
Me too Van. I love roller coasters with or without kids and can't see that changing any time soon.
Lets see...
-Loves Coasters...check
-Loves surfing...check
-Loves the ocean...check
-Loves being away from the city, but enjoys visiting the city....check
-Makes homemade pea soup...check
*looks around for that Sawdust guy*.....
PC, Will you marry me?(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/9.gif)
hahaha if polygamy was legal P.C. would have 3 husbands... lol
sorry PC, I shouldn't joke about it. I will most likely give ALL Vancouverites a bad name as we will ALL be grouped together as a bunch of scumbags that hit on married women on forums.
I'd marry P.C.
But I'd hate to think what that would do for the reputation of Vancouverites on forums.
I always think about that roller coaster accident in Edmonton back in the 80s when I go on a roller coaster. A person died on that sucker. I guess roller coasters are not meant to be soothing and relaxing though.
LOL !!!
I kinda wish polygamy was legal too.

I was living in Edmonton when that happened. 4 people died - the coaster was nick named 4 on the floor for quite some time.
I went with friends to the West ed mall to a movie and coaster marathon. After 10 PM you could ride non stop till midnite? any way we get to the movie and i buy a huge tub o corn expecting to share with my friends - no body wanted any - so we are watching this murder mystery - handfull after handfull of salty buttery goodness goes into my stomach - at the end of the movie i'd eaten the whole thing ?!?!?!
Rollercoaster ALMOST went technicolor.

We'll likely find out in the next year or so ... it sound like you have a few offers on the table - so if LM marries you what does that make sawdust and i? I like the guy but ... all I'm saying is I don't bend over for the soap - just for the record.

Hmmm.....Hubby-in-laws?
The solution to any soap retrieval issues is simple. Liquid soap in a pump bottle is the answer. [/DIV]

Yeah i think your right ...
Yeah i like that - plus it just seems more sanitary than sharing one bar between four adults

Liquid soap is also and excellent lubricant for those confined space. lol
Now we are going in the wrong direction again ...
