OK. I want your honest opinion about this pencil skirt. Do you like it? Do you think it'll look silly on short people like yours truly? (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

  Which ones do you like?

Speaking for myself, I really like the first one with the buttons.

i don't see how short means you can't look sexy.

I think Lise wonders if the "pencil skirt" shape would look good on a short person.

I think they are all nice skirts, Lise.  But I'm totally the wrong person to ask about fashion.

I like the first black one but not the one in the middle. Pencil skirts are great because they're classy and don't go out of fashion. The only problem is the skirts look great on a tall person but on a short person makes your legs look stubby.

This I kinda like. Is it too much?(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/13.gif)

Very cute Miss Lise.....very 60's.  The good stuff always comes back.

If you want to wear a pencil skirt without it making you look short, make sure the top is the same colour as the skirt.....stockings the same colour would give you an even longer line.

Heya Ms. PC. Wow! Good fashion tip there! I'll certainly bear that in mind when I get the skirt.

Pencil skirts look great on short or tall people.  Make sure your shirt/blouse is much lighter (in color) than your skirt.  When you tuck in your shirt, it focuses on your narrow part of the waist and makes you look taller. You could also assesorize your outfit by wearing anice silk scarf.

This trumpet style skirt would also look great on you to elongate those legs of yours, Lise. :)

Oh thanks, Mr. purelife!! Love those ideas. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Love/1.gif)

Any ideas on a simple black dress?

Does this make one's shoulder's look wide?

I LOVE wearing black dresses and dresses in general.  V-neck dresses and shirts are my fav.  It makes your face look leaner (for me).

  (//vny!://sidewayswineclub.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/12/09/lbd2.jpg)[img style="WIDTH: 310px; HEIGHT: 285px" height=515 src="vny!://www.velvetgarden.net/images/photos/20071115-24.jpg" width=273]

I also have a dress quite similiar to this one but without the long sleeves.

  [img style="WIDTH: 230px; HEIGHT: 265px" height=265 src="vny!://cdn.is.bluefly.com/mgen/Bluefly/prodImage.ms?productCode=2088474&width=300&height=300" width=192]

I think all of thse dresses would look great and CUTE on you Lise.  The last pic I posted with the black strip on the middle and the bottom is so totally pretty and IN.  It really makes you look leaner and taller.

I don't like the strapless one so much because it doesn't look good on me when I have broader shoulders.

Oh, this is really pretty, purelife. I like this. Not too crazy about the patterns but I'm sure I can find something in solid black that has a ribbon around the middle.

Is there a store that you shop for little black dresses? I'm not too fond of the Bay or Sears when it comes for dresses but they do have good selection on bras.

My friend wasn't too crazy about patterns but one day, when we were at Zara, I pointed out this beautiful dress that had a splash of beautiful summer colors and a nice pattern.  She was hesitant but it looked great on her and she thanked me later because she received a TON of compliments.

I used to never wear clothes that had a remote pattern or design.  I preferred bold colors/shades, mainly black.  But, ever since I tried on clothes that had some nice patterns and designs, I love em, especially dresses.

I haven't checked out this year's selection of dresses yet, Lise, but my normal stores are:

Zara, Reitmans, Smart Set, RW & Co., Dynamite..

Last year, I purchased two beautiful cute black dresses from Reitmans.

  Good luck.
