I'll post a pic of a movie scene or title (without the movie title) and hopefully someone can guess it.
The person who guesses it correctly can post another movie for all to guess.

Fight Club.
I guess that was pretty easy, huh?
Ok, now it's your turn to post a pic.
ADD: I saw this thread on the DATW forum a long time ago and it looked like fun.
alright mine is coming, it might be challenging except for a few on here.

Alright I'll make an easy one as well .

Are those pics from 3 different movies ?
Is that Love, Actually?
lol Michel.....me too. I don't even know why I asked about the one movie or three thing.
This is my level......

i knew you or gopher would be the only ones to get the dr. strangelove
the 'easier' ones are from love actually
i thought about doing the reaper in the seventh seal , lol . But that would have been too predictable.
So....is it one movie....3 pictures. Two movies, 3 pictures.....or three different movies for 3 different pictures.
hmm tough one. i of course was immediately going to say dances with wolves lol.
no way. lol
i only guessed it because i remember the subtitles in that movie.
here's an easy one
(http://www.editions3d.ca/hockey/en/images/film01.jpg)
Is that Pinochio ?
its about the culture of canada
everyone should know it
its on the 5 dollar bill
it is canada in a nutshell
nah it still holds true today, it explains the foundation of canada through a hockey jersey, how cool can you get?
The foundation of Canada through a hockey jersey ? (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif)
Foundation garments.
I can't wait for the sequel. 'Canada....Through the eyes of a jock-strap'. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
i don't find this funny that nobody knows about this.

You're annoyed by people who aren't inspired to watch a cartoon about a hockey jersey ???? Get a grip son !!!!!
Its a common theme i run into. History class, English class, I hate it that I'm the one in class explaining canadian history to canadians my age who didn't have a clue what the hockey players on the back of the 5 represented. Then I end up apologizing to people for making it seem like I know more about their own country then they do.
P.C. wrote:

this isn't bugs bunny and mickey mouse. This is a story about Canada, there's messages in that story that go beyond a simple 'cartoon'.
It has zero appeal to me. What would make you think that someone might think a cartoon about a hockey jersey would be about anything other than hockey.
[span style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;"][/span]
Oh THAT Canada. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif)

lol sorry about that guys, i get wound up over these things. I spent the winter trying to ponder 'what is the canadian identity' (i was bored). I know great subject eh? lol The themes that kept coming up were duality, multi-culturalism, and then I say celebration of winter. (Canada, and Northern Europe tend to have the same fondness for winter, look through literature, arts and so on its a difining trait). Came to the conclusion you can't say canada's identity is multi-culturalism but this can't be a defining trait because of Quebec. Duality makes more sense in that we are a country of many tongues, a country founded on two distinct ways of living etc. But still, many other countries are dualities, so that's not really 'distinct'. The reality, Canada doesn't really have an identity, its a place where you can come and 'do your own thing' much like the idea of the United States minus the whole 'rah rah America'. On the flip side though, and I'm guilty of this too, we can't compare ourselves to the Americans, we can't let our biasis define Canada in that way. (think of any political issue, america is the big scary monster under your bed coming to get you lol).
so that was my winter basically, lol. how exciting.
yikes i've steered this thread of course.
You need to watch what you say, SD, even though this isn't "reality" (quote and unquote, SD). We are all very real and have real emotions.
We are all very real and have real emotions.

I had to ask my guy for the answer as I didn't know... I do recognize the pic though.
Fox and The Hound. Is he correct?
Yeayyyy Mr PL !!! It is indeed the Fox and the Hound. Many people don't know this, but it actually depicts the history and hardships of the Second World War. (ok....well not really) (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

I'm sure there are films called Beauty and the Tramp and Lady and the Beast.
You will find them in the back room of the video store.
they still have those 'back rooms' lol
there's a swedish film called f*cking Åmål, it gets played on showcase and other u.s. channels. lol never censored or anything (at least in the states case).
Hmmm...... I don't know the name of the movie, Orik. Is it one of the Bourne movies?
LOL about SD. I don't think he can help himself since he knows more about Canada than the average Canadians. (repeat this statement 1,000 times) (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
That's not easy... I'm going to have to use a life line.
Oh MR PL!!! (//forums/richedit/smileys/Teasing/12.gif)
Ok...Mr PL says "Something About Mary!"
Is he correct?
Here's a classic.
Breakfast at Tiffany's?
Audrey Hepburn is the actress. She's absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure about the Breakfast at Tiffany's - if memory serves me right, wasn't it in color?
Try this one:
Hey.....that was on TV a couple weeks ago. I watched some of it, but I still don't know what it's called.
Was Jimmy Stewart in that ?
Is it a Hitchcock ?
North by Northwest ?
Lil Me wrote:
Breakfast at Tiffany's?
Nope. (but it sure does look like it)
Keep on guessing guys. :)
Forrest Gump
North by Northwest?
Is there an echo in here ?
Michel drives an Echo.
Here's another one. C'mon, it's dead easy!
It's only easy if you've seen it. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
Gladiator
i'll have mine soon.

Verrry good but I give up on the Audrey Hepburn movie. Here's another one that's easy. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
Jaws.
easy one
(http://www.animatedlim.com/walleFT.jpg)
Casablanca ?
I don't know that one Lise. .... not easy ... :(
Is that Johnny 5?
Ok, since no one has guessed that Audrey Hepburn movie. It's Sabrina.
Sabrina ?
Rats rats rats !!!!!
Aaa....... Sabrina. I watched the new version with my ex. Bad memories. I ain't touchin' that movie with a ten foot pole.
I don't know that movie. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/9.gif) But that's not Johnny 5. He was a much cooler droid.
well the robot is crying
You got it PC! :)
Awesome movie!
Chariots of Fire ?
yep! Now a small pic:
Smoky and the Bandit ? (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/10.gif)
nope - look at the colo(u)r of the car!
Hmmmm. I'm not too up on my cop car colours.
no, no, no, no, no... the car being chased isn't black, it is... (may need magnifying glass!)
It's gotta be older because of the cherry on top....yes?
If by older you mean prior to 1980, yes!
Another hint - your fine city is in writing near the beginning.
My fine city....or Seattle ?
Seattle - as in last person to leave...
or should I write:
will the last person leaving seattle...
...please turn out the lights

Jeeez....you're ringing all kinds of bells.....but nothing's coming to me.
Sleepless in Seattle ?
how is Sleepless pre-1980?
Visualize a Helicopter involved in the car chase.
Nooooo....I swear. It was almost a simultaneous post. So are we right ?
cannonball run?
I'm only guessing. Chances that I've seen this movie are slim to none.
yeah yeah I know what cougars on line talking about their bra to juvenile innocent christian fresh of the plane are capable to do... lol (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/1.gif) Don't make me come over there Michel.
More clues?
Two dudes and a chick... all ends with a train wreck.
Focus, focus...
The car is made famous by another movie and a TV show in the early 80s.
It is a 70s classic!
Hmmmm....I'm stumped
Dukes of Hazzard ?
Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry

YES! I think well done for Sporsdude, and shame to P.C. and Michel. The opening scene of the movie is a shot of a car driving off with the bumper sticker:
"Will the last person leaving Seattle please turn out the lights"
Yer killing me.
Heyyyyy....no shame. I've never seen it. I've never even seen the movies I guessed. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
Really? How is that possible. It is always on TV and was huge in the mid-70s.
lol...not a big movie watcher. I have eclectic taste in movies.

Sorry I'm not playing fair - Sportsdude won, so he's up. I'm taking the dog to the LQ for about 10 minutes.
(http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/10.gif).....the LQ ?
Ahh....War of the Worlds ?
Hey....have you ever seen a movie called Metropolis ? It's quite interesting. It was made in 1916 (I think)....by a guy named Fritz Lang. It's a silent film, but was later dubbed with a sound track by Queen. If you're in to something unusual.....but entertaining....check it out.
lol....I got it right, didn't I. One of the few I've seen.
Oh....24. I knew it was OLD. It was really good.
Many of the old flicks are better than the remakes. I saw the Titanic when I was a kid.....and it has stuck with me forever. The new one was so cheesy, it was embarrassing. What a waste of film that was.
The Re-release (with the Queen soundtrack) was 1984. Have you seen that one ?

That's not Julia Roberts people!

It's too hard Mic, too obscure. How about some clues N.A.icans will get?
I'm going to do a typing test and when I come back I'll expect P.C. to have guessed it.
[A href="http://www.typingtest.com"]www.typingtest.com[/A]
rofl. A typing test and the 'LQ' don't seem like a good mix.
Well done Mic, but you answered your own ???
Okay, the typing test didn't work out, I was kicking ass but the web site wasn't registering my speed. Yes, loves, I'm that fast. No, usually about 90, but there is some issue at that site right now.
Here's my pic:

I'll have to google that one in the morn. G'night stretch and Michel.
Jason Alexander plays the leads best friend. No, not the Seinfeld movie. When will that happen anyway?
Here's the pic again, keep on trying people!

ok. (I'm not so good at this)
That's gotta be Dukes of Hazzard.
My, my... this thread has certainly moved!!
That isn't The Dukes. It is some movie where the "challenged" looking guy is totally subservient to the dude on the right. Now who is that???
Who is the blond actor on the right??? I've seen this movie, or at least parts of it and not knowing the title or the actors names is driving me crazy!
Is Robert Redford ringing any bells ?
P.C. wrote:

Yes indeed. I was thinking him but then thought... naw. So it is him and the movie was filmed 39 years ago about the time of the Manson murders and more importantly, and positively, WOODSTOCK!
Little Fauss and Big Halsy
The majorly ugly dude playing Little Fauss is turning 69 next month. Redford is turning 72 - he was the young one in his roles with Paul Newman - 83 years old!
Yeayyyy ! That's it stretch. I didn't think anyone would get that one.....it's pretty old and a little obscure.

Yep, your turn P.C. I read the book and then found myself watching the film a couple of years later - it seemed familiar!!!
Yea....I've done that before too. If there is a book that has been made into a movie, if there is even a remote chance I would watch the movie.....I always prefer to read the book first. Most often, the book is better.
OK.....This is an old movie....but one of my all time favourites.

Yes, the movie that made HIM famous.
well its going to be the number 1 movie of the summer, perhaps year. Everyone who has a child on the board is going to see it, because they're going to want to see it. Its a message movie for adults as well, its science fiction mixed with a kid friendly message, its a post-consumerism earth society gone bad. WALL-E is all that is left.

5'10" maybe in his 20s - now at retirement age he's lost at least an inch and most men add an inch or two!

mr. smith goes to washington
Hmm.... I can almost tell you what movie. I've seen it a long, long time ago. That's Val Kilmer, isn't it?
Right you are, Michel. The English name is Wounded Knee.
Did you read the book by Dee Brown, Michel?
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, is something everyone OUGHT to read.

I love to go to Cankpe Opi, there's a panel on the life and death of Crazy Horse near the ravine where they killed all the Oglala people. Everywhere is name appears, there's a bullet hole. So much hatred after a Century. What a great man he was. You know his grave is still hidden from white men.
I saw the grave of Chief Joseph last year, it's not very far from Vancouver, just sout-east of Cascades National Park. What a beatiful surprise it was to found it totally by chance. ...

Austin Powers

No, I didn't really watch Austin Powers. I saw a bit of it and turned it off. LOL, and here I thought the 3sum joke was about your fantasy...
Austin Powers 1 - hysterical
Austin Powers 2 - funny, albeit a bit long in the tooth of repetitve jokes
Austin Powers 3 - atrocious
Austin Powers 4 - not going to see it most likely.
