Title: Earth Hour - March 29 8pm
Post by: purelife on Mar 28 08 11:11
Please participate and turn off your lights tomorrow for one hour at 8pm.

Perhaps Van can have his date over for a late late night dinner in the dark? Ya know..to "feel" the food... (and each other). ;)

On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the [A href="vny!://www.wwfus.org/" target=_blank]World Wildlife Fund[/A].

Now you are talking! *bless*.

Actually, I live in a pretty dark home as it is. I try to keep the lights off as much as possible.

Is it because you like to keep it that way or you live underground with Gopher?

Well speaking of keeping the lights out.....I'm not doing those stupid new lightbulbs any more.  I'm going back to the old ones.  They don't even have a way to dispose of those things yet.  If you break one, you practically have to call in a bio-hazzard team to clean up the mercury.  They don't last a minute longer and they don't cost a cent cheaper to run and the overall price hasn't prooved to cost effective in any other way.  They seem to be merely another marketing strategy to convince us all that we need to change.

Today they have the Google on a 'lights out' background.

We have company for dinner tonight, but we will still do the lights out at 8 PM.  I'm relatively certain, the next public outcry will be a panic reaction, and a call to look into the shortage of wax.[/DIV]

You forgot to mention glow condoms as well............

As for Earth Hour, I'll do my best though it's hard as I'm expecting guests tonight. Hmm.. eat in the dark, now that's a novelty.

I'm going to do my best to turn off our lights too and have some candles going in lieu because we also have guests at that time.

We  have guests too...but I already spoke to them when I extended the invitation.....they were totally up for it, as they had planned to participate if they were at home anyways.

Well, we did the earth hour....turned a couple lights on at 9......immediately followed by a power outage.  Don't know what time it came on in the night, but it was still out when I went to bed around midnight.

Delish Lil Me.  Chocolate Fudge cake with Kahlua icing.  Not a big sweets person, but I managed to scarf down a half piece.

I guess garden play is out today, as we are blanketed in snow.  Sheeeesh !!!!

I'd like to see an earth hour once a week, myself.  It's pretty painless...although killing the computer and TV would be good as well.

Still haven't sorted out what I want to do today.  What an odd feeling.  I think I may work on the earthquake kit.  Something's just not right.

PC, just watched Mythbuster yesterday. Those little piggy tail bulbs takes 10 milliwats an hour compare to 90 milliwats an hour for the classic lightbulb.

Hum, that reminds me, how is your TV by the way ? My camera is getting worse again (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Sad/11.gif)  Looks like I wont avoid the $$$ and no camera period just when the flowers come out and the bears awake.

Mythbuster ?  I didn't see Mythbuster.  All I see is my hydro-bill that reflects no savings.

TV is history.  I don't want to talk about it.

So sorry about your camera Michel.  Maybe you could ask them for a loaner while yours is being fixed.  Tell them you're a secret agent, and you MUST have a camera.  (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
