the seattle public library looks like a glorified truck tool box. That's really cool to look at apparently.

Russ, if you're there, you gotta stop by and eat at the Olive Garden for me!!!! I've been wanting to go there for years!

Oh... er.... isn't Costco one of the must-see on the way? (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/21.gif)

Apparently there's this cafe/restaurant above Pike Place that's supposed to be a good spot to sit down for coffee and what not. That Italian chef... the cute girl... forgot her name, something Gisseau whatever... recommended it.

We usually try to eat at Salty's on Redondo Beach.  It's a wonderful drive.

Hey all, apparently the person we are staying with DOESNT have internet !?! So here I am in an Internet cafe here in downtown Seattle.

Um, I noticed theres links on the homepage for places to see around seattle (duh).

We hit museum of flight yesterday.. pretty interesting. They had BiPlane rides for 125 bucks for 15 minutes.

We hit the Underground Tour today and are heading to Pike Market now. Thanks for the restuarant Ideas!

Um, Lise you know theres an Olive Garden out in the Langley area? I went there a few years ago.

See you all in a bit.

Russ n Starfish.

I haven't been to Seattle in years, besides driving through on the 5. I think Kurt Cobain was in his mid-depressed stage and not actually suicidal yet the last time I was there. Gooood music in that town I know that fer sure!

Hey all. Thanks for the ideas! We are back in Normal Vancouver... At least they dont try to run you off the freeways here. LOL, but I did LOVE driving on a big open stretch of freeway that had a higher limit than what we do.

Good times! I didnt like the Tower thingy.. uh, space needle cause I dont like things that high in the air to sway at all. Starfish was dancing around taking pictures while I was content to look for a bit then hide inside.

We did end up going to that Salty's restuarant LM.. Loved it so thanks for that suggestion. I did however hate the Kalamari there, and at some of the other restaurants we tried. The guy we were staying with, as well as some of his friends, all laughed at us for trying the Kalamari at some of the different places.

We went to a bar on the way to the Everett boat show the first day we were there, and I ordered a burger with bacon, ham, and cheese on it. There was an option for 'Large' so I decided to take it... I couldnt finish it. I think its the first time Ive ever not been able to finish a burger. The amount of thick bacon and ham on that burger was bigger than the burger patty which was already big.

Beer is dirt cheap. It did seem to be weaker, and there was no labelling whatsoever for the percentages.. but we found Kokanee that was imported at the local safeway so we bought that and inflicted it on the guy we were staying with.

We had a great time, everyone was super friendly once they knew we were from Vancouver. I got called 'neighbor' more times than I can count. I really liked the area and we will probably be heading back down again closer to the summer.

LOL and lots of really cheap no-name beers, too.
Smirnoff Ice also has less alcohol in the US.

 Good times.
Did I tell you to eat kalamari?  No, I did not!!!!

glad you had fun in Seattle Russ.

I always find something interesting to look at on the drive back from SeaTac. Last time there was a couple hundred swans in Mt. Vernon area. very cool.

Sounds like a great time!

I get frusterated driving around Vancouver after being on a real freeway system.

If you ever want another city to check out, Portland is a sweet town too. It is like a mellow version of Seattle. A lot of independant coffee shops, artist, freaks up Hawthorne. Beautiful music scene. Gorgeous tree lined streets. Cool place. If I move to the USA, I would love to live in Portland.

Haven't been to Portland for years, though we did spend some time in the Eugene/Medford/Crater Lake area last summer.  Beautiful backcountry.  Went rafting on the McKenzie River.

REMINDER:  NO SALES TAX IN OREGON!!!!

The relatives live in Tillamook land, hesitant on seeing them, they'll make me watch Rush Limbaugh internet feeds probably. lol At least they live next to a Maxx station, I'd hang out in the square all day in downtown. Probably do something this summer though. Who knows...
