Years ago there was this book about animal-human cooperation. On the cover was this guy in a  small boat with a panther and her cub in the front. He was this naturalist, or whatever, in India, and had rescued this panther when she herself had been a cub.

  And now she came onto him for a lift to this island she lived on, an island in a lake, that had been submerged during a monsoon.

  And does anybody remember that story in the paper a few years ago about a duck that got the attention of a cop, I think it was in Victoria, and let him to a storm drain where her kids had fallen in?

 Yeah, the duck-ette walked up to a cop, of all people, and pulled on his pant leg with her bill, and somehow persuaded him to follow her to the storm drain.

 You're just jealous I beat you there. :) :)

    Have you ever seen green monkey's and the like? I saw a bunch in some cages in africa a few years ago, they would screech at you whenever you would go close and try to grab you. Failing that they would throw their feces at you. One of the keepers was telling me when I talked to him that if there was a female in your group as you went by the more aggressive males would stare and stroke themselves.
