Mine is spag with meat sauce or chicken congee.

I like congee too. Comfort food for me is usually hot pot with dumplings and whatever tossed in there. Oh and roast chicken. Can't beat that one.

Is that not the most ridiculous phrase? Comfort food?

Whenever I hear that, I think of some obese lady sitting at home, crying. But between sobs, she is stuffing her face with food, and says something like..

"WHYYY?!?! WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME JOHN?!?! *SNIFF* .. *SNIFF*.. *MUNCH* *MUNCH* .... *SNIFF*... WHYYYYY???????"

Good thought, Marik.

I DO use food as comfort.  I like to eat something special if I'm celebrating, something simple that's warm if I'm feeling cold/sick.  Hmm.  Maybe I put too much importance on food.  Should stick to a simple/sensible eating plan regardless of what I "feel" like eating.

FROM NOW ON, [span style="text-decoration: underline;"]I will only rely on alcohol for comfort.[/span]

The problem about using food for comfort is that I end up gaining too much weight...it really sucks!  I think I prefer the fluids way, ie smoothies, wine...

Tea and vitamins...

I forgot about tea... (and water) fills ya up very quickly.

Do you eat comfort food when you're stressed or just whenever?  I think I snack more when I'm stressed.  Not good...

My favourite comfort food is chicken pot-pie.  I also like a roast chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and carrots.  The smell alone is comforting.

Mmmm.  That sounds like a wonderful comfort.  Add a crackling fire, and it's out and out decadence.[img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/a056.GIF" border=0]

HI RUSS !

You're so right.  There's nothing like cooking from home.  Even if it's BAD home cooking, at least you know what it's SUPPOSED to taste like.
