I heard something about a new type of disc specifically for storing digital photos. I was only paying half attention, so I don't know what it's called or what makes it better. Maybe platinum ???
Anyone know of this... or better still, anyone used it?
I've never heard of such thing, PC...sorry.
It would be interesting to know though because I would wonder how it compares to storing photos on a portable hard drive or via an online site.
Well I used to save them on a disc, but I lost SO much stuff, that I will never do it again. BUT, my library of photos is getting HUGE. It would be nice to free up some space, but not at the risk of losing more.
It's always puzzled me why it isn't out there that discs can have a relatively short shelf life.
Have you looked into getting a portable hard drive, PC? My guy brought one that is about 160GB hard drive from Costco's for $90. This thing is tiny, fits in your palm. I'm sure 160GB is more than enough for your photos.
We always back up our photos and music on this thing.
Yea, we did that too purelife.
I was just thinking it would be really nice to have them catagorized in a disc library for easy accessability.

or the old fashioned library. lol.
lol. The scary part is, I have a ton and a half of those too. I believe they are still the most reliable way to go. I mean there are photographs still around from when the camera was first invented. I have discs that went blank in a year.
I may just get me some Ink-in-a-Drum and print the whole works.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
I saw this on TV the other day on that show, Dotto Tech (or whatever he calls it now):

Don't know if that is outrageously expensive or not or if there is a better one there but sounds useful.
Well if it works the price isn't too bad. But just like discs, discovering that time was their enemy, do we know if this thing passed the time test ?
