Can anyone give me an idea how much it might cost to have a simple company website built? (incl registering domain name). It would only include contact info, a list of projects/clients and some photos. We would supply all content and graphics ourselves.
My brother is a graphic and a website designer. I've seen his work and it is verrrry professional looking. I can ask him how much he would charge for a basic site like what you have mentioned, if you wish.
ADD: And I know another guy who can build websites. I'll ask him as well.

For what you've described, anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a couple of thousand. More likely the former (hundreds) than the latter (thousands). It depends a lot on the site's design- the template that defines the look and feel of the site itself. If you supplied the template or design, a few hundred dollars would be reasonable.

Why not just design the website yourself, Lil Me? It's not as hard as it may seem and there are easy, professional looking free templates on the website to help you on your way.
Hey Lil Me, I'm with Lise on this. There are a bunch of places to buy 'canned' websites if you are just looking for a basic site. Here is one from Network Solutions that starts at $4.95 month and that includes registering your domain name.

Thanks Lise and P.C. for your suggestions. I will check them out (when I have time- *sigh* and figure out how long it would take to throw a simple website together. If the time commitment is too great, we'll definately find a web designer. Neither of us can afford to use "client time" for silly things like IT and websites.)

In my life, I created two websites. I remember using Microsoft Frontpage but I'm sure that we have better software. I'm with you on trying to do one yourself rather than pay a web designer. It definitely gets to be expensive.
