Other than Pajos in Richmond, can anyone recommend a good fish n chips place? I think purelife or Lil Me told me some place in Burnaby but I can't remember the name...
I just had the one from Londsale Quay and boy, I tell ya... good it ain't. The fish was ok but a bit small for the price you pay and the fries were just plain awful. Too salty overall.
Anyways, any suggestions would be appreciated. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/21.gif)
I like Mr Pickwick's. There's one on Denman (where Bud's Halibut&Chips used to be) and a smaller take-out location at 70th and Granville.
Cockney Kings in New Westminster in the same plaza as IGA.

there is a Cockney Kings place in Burnaby as well... along that 'main' road that leads to the PNE.. I forget the name, but it's in the same area as the Safeway.

I've been to all these places, used to practically live at King's Fare, loved Pajo's, but this one's got 'em all beat:

Chip Fryer? Is it different than a deep fryer?
We have a deep Fryer... kinda not really tried it once.. we want to try again soon. Hot Pot Cult high priestess PC gave me some good recipe's
No, it's the same thing. As I want it especially for chips I called it a chip fryer.

This is a good point.
Drat. I think I have to run here.. take care Gopher.. Ill talk to you in a bit.
That sounds like an interesting idea, Gophie. But wouldn't it be kinda deadly to have your OWN chip fryer? It would be sooo tempting to use it all the time!
Not really, I'm not desperately into chips - just now and then. Any ideas of other things I could fry? I know that some people eat deep-friend chocolate bars, but I've never quite fancied the idea.
Frybread! Fried bannock. Just like in the movie [a href="vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120321/"]Smoke Signals[/a].
(wonderful film- everyone should see it)
people fry veggies, why i have no idea.
if you want to die, there's always the fried twinkie.
Thanksgiving fried turkey
fried chicken
fried anything.
Are you telling me that you've never had fried zuchinni, fries, sweet potatoes, etc? OMGYUMM!
I've actually heard that fried turkey ROCKS! I personally have never tried it or attempted to fry anything but my friends have been raving about it. I'm open to trying new things. :))
Fried spring rolls are damn yummy..... mmmm...f r i e d food.... but of course, only eat in moderation, that way, you don't get bored of fried food.
(sorry for hi-jacking your thread, Lise)
One little thing you have to try if you get a 'chip fryer' Gophie....is fried parsley. Just toss in some whole little sprigs for a few seconds.....remove and drain on some paper towel, and salt it a wee bit. It collapses in your mouth like sponge toffee. Kinda fun.
Right, zucchini and parsley it is, I've got tons of both in the garden.
Ugh. Now I have a huge craving for fried food!
Maybe you can compromise Lil Me.....and deep fry some broccoli.
