Title: Is PS2 scarface like GTA for cheats?... or will it just crash also?

Is the PS2 game SCARFACE similar to grand theft auto in that grand theft auto usually screws up after you use a cheat and have to start over, meaning you can not save after a cheat, or is it safe to use a cheat and asume that the game will not crash further into the story line?
