I heard that it's really good there.  I've dined there a couple of times (not for their buffet) and their food is yummy.  It's always busy though.

I think so.

You could also pre-order or do take out.

Yes, smallville is on!  :)  Ok, that was off topic.

I haven't been to Shabusen for a few years.  You cook your own food on the table (either grill or hotpot- you choose) and they bring you as much raw food as you want.  Plus as much sushi, salad, teriyaki chicken, gyoza etc. as you want.  It's a pretty good deal.

Anyone been to Samba's?  They have an all you can eat BBQ meat thing.  I haven't been there.

Oh hell yeah I been to Samba's... all you can gorge yourself with bbq'd meat?

Its really good. They even have some of that strange green leafy stuff there.

I recommend it, but I think its like 17 a person? They had live dancers for brazillian mombo or whatever its called when I was there.

Samba? A friend of mine went there... .said it was definitely a meat-fest type of thing. Y'know, where the carnivore gather at the watering hole except there's meat instead of water. And forget about the greens, truly icky salad selection.

I'm not much of a downtown lunch person since I don't work there. It's the usual food court thing for me. If I had a choice though, I'd head down to Hornby Food Court. (Hornby and Pender?) They've got this international food court and I like the Chinese steamed chicken with rice selection. Can get crowded during lunch peak hours though.

Urban Fare below the Shangri-La has an amazing healthy lunch selection.

They have sushi, sandwiches, soups, salads, hot/cold meals.  They all look yummy and really healthy.

For a quarter chicken with two side dishes (choose from mashed taters, mixed veggies, including brocolli or fried rice) it costs $7.50ish.

California rolls - $6 for quite a lot

The "weigh your hot food" is expensive.

Between $6 - $10, you can get something super healthy and tasty.

It's the quarter chicken with the drumstick and another part...not sure if it's called the thigh?

They looked baked with herbs.  I didn't try it but will get it another time.  They also had ribs and other meat to go with your two side dishes.

I think you'll find it very filling, Michel.

I did a more thorough walk in there to examine almost every aisle.   Many, maybe all items are highly overpriced because you can find the same thing at Stupidstore for a HUGE fraction of the cost.  But, UF is catering to the rich upstairs and surrounding area.

Did you know that Jackie Chan was seeking out that Shangri-La condo?  He doesn't own one but rumours had it that he was looking.

Lunch today was at the APPLEDELI at the corner of Davey and Hornby
here are some pics of a nice little lunch spot not to cheap but not to expensive either. the price per person  is from  4 to 10 dollars.

 [span class="spnMessageText" id="msg"][/span]
the out side looks nice right

 now look at the inside
 [span class="spnMessageText" id="msg"][/span]

it has a nice rustic interior with well placed mirrors to make it look larger and the mirrors give it such nice lighting all the stained glass is just beautiful, my poor little camera just doesn't give justice too the beauty of this place.

 the lunch menu.

i myself had the chicken salad sandwich with all the veggies

 [span class="spnMessageText" id="msg"][/span]

it was a most excellent and filling lunch. the classic music was wonderful, this is a lovely place to de-stress while enjoying a healthy and a tasty lunch. the lady's making and serving the lunch were 2 sweet mature Koreans their English was excellent, just like the food.

Bacon & Cheese $5.50

Egg Salad $5.00

Crab Meat $5.50

I would select Crab Meat all day

anyway pretty expensive for deli sandwiches.........for the prices I would expect hot hofbrau sandwiches

it's probably the imitation crab meat made from red snapper and not real crab meat 49er... yes it is fairly expensive... mind you pretty much everywhere you go in this city these days is so over priced...

Did you see the bamboo up those stairs outside of the Fare?  Aren't they just pretty too?  Urban Fare sure is pretty..... All it's missing is a fireplace.  (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/3.gif)
