Roger Morrow said in a press conference near the murder scene that the first emergency call came in as a report of a gas leak with multiple victims, triggering a massive police and fire response.[/p] "Initially, it was a gas leak. A very large area was cordoned off for fear of an explosion," he said.[/p] But emergency responders to the tall concrete building near 98th Ave and King George Highway quickly realized they we're dealing with a mass murder scene.                                                                                                                   [/p]"We're looking at perhaps a very dramatic homicide scene with as many as six dead," said Sgt Morrow.[/p] Asked if it was a murder suicide, he replied; "I literally don't know."

Update: there was actually no gas leak.  The "gas" smell was the smell of decomposing bodies.  Yeesh.

Eeeow. That's gross. Remember when I said I have smelt rotting body way back in Australia. Imagine that smell times 6!!!! Worst than spoilt egg. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Shocked/6.gif)

I don't think I would have return to that apartment. I'd be in a great hurry to sell off my place though I doubt anyone would want to buy it.

How creepy.  How does this happen, without neighbours hearing things ? (I don't know much of the details, but surely it couldn't have been a quiet evening)

 I agree lise.

They also say that once a body has started to decompose and leak its fluids out, everything in the area will have to be replaced.. the smell will never go away.

This is kinda gross- but many years ago someone died in a dorm while I was attending uni.  There was a girl who hadn't been seen for a while....neighbours assumed she was finished exams early and had gone away...then there was a really bad smell reported by the neighbours....She died in her dorm room from natural causes.

I remember seeing the construction crews there.  They tore the room and adjoining rooms right down to the studs and replaced everything.  They even replaced some carpet, etc. in common areas outside her room because the smell cannot be removed.  Close neighbours needed to throw out all their clothing, bedding, etc.
