Post by: Lil Me on Sep 14 07 12:41
[span id="article"][font face="Verdana,Sans-serif"][font color="black" size="2"][span id="article"][span id="intelliTXT"] NANUET, N.Y. (AP) - Stomping on garlic with your shoes on is apparently not the correct way to prepare food. The Rockland County health department hit the Great China Buffet restaurant with two violations after someone took pictures of an employee stomping on a bowl of garlic with his boots in an alley. The man alerted health inspectors.[/p] "I go back there, and the guy's stepping on garlic," said Dan Barreto, who used to eat at the restaurant. "There he was just jumping up and down on it, smashing it up, having a good time."[/p][/span][/span][/font][/font][/span]

That's a good point purelife.  I suppose I should wash my car before I tenderize the pork chops though.

Good one SD.

I don't think so Michel.  It has custom Dr. Scholls seat covers with Odor Eaters.

lol PC! That couldbe true.. maybe they have something there with adding on years to our lives.

It was YEARS ago now that it happened.. and I had eaten there when it first opened, but they werent nailed with this for another two years or something.. I think it was shut down then sold 5 years ago.

  anyone else remember this?

I don't know that I specifically remember that one, but I do remember the buzz.......because I think it opened up the flood gates for casting suspicion and rumour about many Chinese food restaurants.

Ick then.

I ate at Sizzler in the U.S. two times this summer and had a reasonably good meal there.  A lot of people cringe at salad bars, but I like them.  Something about growing up the '70s maybe.

Well, the first word in the title of this thread is 'Improper',  so we're misusing it in the right spirit.

Did I ever tell you about the foamy sweet and sour sauce I made once ?

Don't ever store your Safers Insecticidal Soap in a vinegar bottle.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/a136.gif" border=0]

I love that story.
(maybe the cheapo buffets should try that trick- might keep the insects out of the kitchen!)

One of my pet peeves in resturants is when the server also works the till without washing their hands! (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Shocked/3.gif)
