Ever watched any? I've watched:
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Beauty and the Beast
The only one I've seen was Les Mis. Hubby gave me tickets the very first year we were going out, and I thought.....ugh ! I was under the dilusion that I couldn't stand live theatre. But of course I didn't want to be rude, so pretended that it was the best gift ever. I was shocked to find out I enjoyed every minute, and bawled my eyes out 10 minutes into the show. As it turned out, it was a pretty fine gift.
Oh yea.....I'm sure this doesn't fall into the Broadway musical catagory, but I also went to the Nutcracker at the Queen E. Took my 2 daughters, (didn't subject my son to the ballet) and I was so amazed at the set design more than anything. Things happened 'live' in front of my eyes, that I thought was only possible on film. All the set design was by Maurice Sendak, who was the author of my sons favourite book at the time, and I think even HE would have enjoyed the production for that alone.
I sometimes wonder at the Broadway crowds. Kinda snoobish, some of them. I have yet to see Les Misera... I should have gone (I had the opportunity) but never gotten around to it. Broadway theatre to me is nice but I think I would prefer watching the big screen.
My sister on the other hand, loves em. She's the musical genius in the family so she can appreciate the arts.
Maybe one day I'll take the kids to go watch a ballet recital, minus hubby. He's more prone to snore through the whole event. A bad example for the kiddies.[/DIV]
I went to the Queen E for Phantom of The Opera. I've also gone to musicals done by community groups like the Royal City Musical Group has a production every year in the spring. I've seen them do Peter Pan & Sound of Music.
used to see 2 or 3 shows a year, they've got a huge pre depression outdoor theatre here. Broadway comes during the summer.
I've always thought of musicals as some sort of dying breed. It still exists, but its popularity is dwindling. Is this true?
Used to be popular then it died off and now it's back on the rise. It isn't my cup of tea per se, I would rather spend the money on watching films instead.
I'm not an amateur of the genre but Ii must say that I really love Hair at the time. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/23.gif)

Have you seen the movie PC?
What movie ?
Hair, by Milos Forman, 1979, nominated for one César.
I have not seen a movie of Hair......but I have seen it in Live Theatre. From what I remember, it was very good. It was a long time ago.
The movie is quite good, must be hard to find to rent outside of a repertoire place however. They've redone the music for it, maybe 95 % of the songs.
