Well, since this is a Seattle group. Do you guys have any suggestions?
This is a Seattle forum, but most of us are not from Seattle.
Anyways, I pasted this from a post from some time ago.....I hope it is of some help.
[A href="vny!://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=71"][FONT color=#000000]vny!://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=71[/FONT][/A]
It depends on what you're shopping for.
The huge dept stores are excellent with great deals: Target, Ross, JC Penny, TJ Max (i hope that i got that name correctly) and Walmart.
The outlet store that PC put the link up to is ok. I didn't find much of what I was interested in but you may like it more than me.
TJ Maxx because its to the Max! They add an extra x. ;)
Is Kohl's up there too? That's another clothing store.
Thanks for the help.
Have you guys been to the Tullalip Casino/Outlet Mall? What are your impressions?
I have been to some factory outlets down there.....(but I can't remember where they were)...and I didn't find the prices to be that great.
Big help WE are. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]
outlet malls are a bit silly if you ask me. They're everywhere in Florida which boggles my mind considering its Florida.
I've been to the Tullalip Outlet Mall (not the casino) about 2 months ago.
That outlet mall wasn't for me. I didn't shop there much. The clothes there didn't fascinate me because I wasn't into the big brand name clothes or designer handbags. There, I only brought perfume and couple of bras. That's about it.
I wanna go! I wanna go!!! Waaaah.... purelife talk to my hubby into letting me go shop there! I need bras and panties since you've stole all mine.
Waaaah! Me too!
I went speeding past all the big outlet malls earlier this week.
I did manage to run into a Ross and get kids' 2 piece PJs for $5.
And I went to Marshall's and got kids' Reeboks for $10 and $20, and a bunch of $5 surf shorts for Mr LM.
I shop Wal-Mart so I don't go to the Factory Outlets.
I heard on ther radio there is a coupon for a funbook for the Tulallip Casino in one of the papers. Anyone know which one and which day it comes out?
A Vancouver radio station, or a Seattle station ?
probably Seattle. Don't think a Seattle area casino would be advertized in Vancouver.
They're advertised here all the time.
really? hmm that's sorta odd. Is Vancouver events broadcasted in the Seattle area? If not it should stop. That's not fair business.
I think it's fair. You pay for advertising wherever you think there is a market. I don't think Vancouver stations are not doing it as a public service. I'm sure if Vancouver attractions paid for ads on a Seattle station, they would run them.
no I bet they've got laws saying only american advertising. If they have laws like that in Seattle. Vancouver should as well.
I bet "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" is ran thruout Canada
lol.....you bet 49er.
well i never see BC ads on TV. I wonder if they're even allowed here. Instead I get Arkansas and Mississippi
I do see visit Vancouver ads once in a while here
ah oke. Now that I think about it I saw an Ontario ad a long long long time ago. Then I think Michigan was worried that Ontario would take all their business so now all I see is Michigan ads about investing and such. lol
Up until recently, I would think it would have been very beneficial to have ads for visiting anywhere in Canada, where your vacation dollar would have gone twice as far. I find it hard to imagine travel agents wouldn't have been all over that. And judging from the amount of American plates here over the last few years, someone has put the message out there.....lol
really? Nobody likes going to Canada. Which is fine by me they don't know what they're missing. The general consenses is that Canada is 'boring' and not a 'sexy' locale.
They always bring up the winters as an excuse or something. You'll see americans at Niagra Falls, Banff and Victoria because of the gardens. That's about where all of them go.
at least here in the Midwest. But they've never been the worldly bunch.

Americans retirees were driving into Canada to fill their prescriptions
ah yes that too. The govenor in Illinois had state buses bus people to Windsor and Winnipeg to get their drugs refilled.
NOBODY likes going to Canada ? That's the goofiest thing I ever heard. Who in their right mind wouldn't go somewhere that gives them such a bang for their buck ? I live in a tourist area....and I can tell you, that June through August, at the very least every second license plate is from the states (or Alberta.....lol). There are resorts here, that are filled with 75% Americans during the summer.
Painters Lodge where I went last weekend, is a favourite spot of many Americans.....many of whom are American celebrities.
Perhaps where you are, Canada isn't a desired vacation destination.....but for many south of the border it is.
If you put the situation in reverse, people here will veto plans to vacation in the States when our dollar is weak. It's just common sense.
no not really. Where are the plates from? They've done polls and studies after studies. Americans don't see Canada like they do Europe. They see it as boring.
Then politics gets involved. Most americans believe the terrorists came through Canada.
[span class="inside-head"]Americans' visits to Canada are going south
[/span][div class="inside-copy"]O, Canada?[/div] [p class="inside-copy"]For many U.S. travelers this summer, the response is "no, thanks." [/p] [p class="inside-copy"]Overall U.S. visits have slumped by more than one-third over the past five years, and same-day car trips are down nearly 50%. And the outlook for 2007 isn't much better, says Randy Williams of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.[/p] [p class="inside-copy"]"We thought things couldn't get worse after 9/11 and SARS (the health scare that sparked a sharp drop in Canadian tourism in 2003). But they have," says Anna Pierce, head of Niagara Falls Tourism. The Ontario-based organization has seen foreign visitors (nearly 70% of whom are from the USA) decline from almost 14 million in 2000 to 11 million last year, and it expects another drop of about 5% this year.[/p] [p class="inside-copy"]What's dampening U.S. demand:[/p]Confusion over new passport regulations
Concern about security-related delays at border crossings
A strong Canadian dollar and higher gas prices
Canada's elimination of a tax-rebate program for individual foreign travelers
Another worry: A survey showing that many young U.S. travelers dismiss Canada as an "average" or "boring" place to visit.

The changed the saying from "What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas" to What happens in "Vegas, everyone knows."
This ad appeared in the Vancouver Sun a few months ago. The Chelsea or Premium Outlets are regularly advertised on 95.3 Crave (formerly Z): [A href="vny!://files-upload.com/files/455275/tulalip%20coupon"]vny!://files-upload.com/files/455275/tulalip%20coupon[/A]

Ummm....SD....you're relying on meaningless polls and 'statistics' again. You need to figure out soon that most polls and graphs and statistics need to stop arguing with reality for whatever their agenda is. Some of these polls are not a huge leap from relying on DV for opinions of Vancouver.
You also need to figure out that reality is not always based in Google. *heavy sigh*
I just don't know what else to say......because I'm sure whatever I say, you'll be able to find something on Google that will contradict it.
you won't.
When travel people on the Today show come on and they bring up Canada its the same same song. "Boring".
Plus after 9/11 travel did drop tremendously. And most Americans still believe the hijackers came through Canada (along with Saddam being involved). lol
It's a common fact that americans don't like visiting Canada. Plus I didn't just randomly search for that article, I read it in the USA Today 20 days ago.

You're incorrect about that one. The Province advertises the Tullalip Casino and has coupons. I don't know how often, but I've seen it several times in The Province.
I guess you can always find something on Google to support your views.....depending on what view you want to put forth.

It may seem like a quiet country where not much happens besides ice hockey, curling and beer drinking. But our neighbor to the north is proving to be quite the draw for thousands of disgruntled Americans.
[/DIV]
The number of U.S. citizens who moved to Canada last year hit a 30-year high, with a 20 percent increase over the previous year and almost double the number who moved in 2000.
In 2006, 10,942 Americans went to Canada, compared with 9,262 in 2005 and 5,828 in 2000, according to a survey by the Association for Canadian Studies.
SD, when you start to gain more REAL LIFE experiences either in Canada or US, you will realize how WORTHLESS these damn statistics are. It's time to live in the emotional world, not in a world of analysis and the analytical. Leave that up to the scientists, unless that is where you are heading.
I'm worried about you SD. If you bring the attitude that you know more about Canada than just about anyone else, with you.....your college days may be very lonely.
so you don't believe any statistics whatsoever?
It's never about winning arguments too, SD. And arguments should never be labeled as "fighting." Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean that you've got to keep convincing them or push your thoughts into them all the time, especially with stats!
No, I don't. Why should I ever care about stats? Do stats care about me?

This article has nothing to do with Canada, its about Americans. And you want life experiences, life experiences here tell me that people don't like Canada, they think its "boring". Just ask.
God, SD. With two women telling you SOMETHING..... you gotta just........ ARGH!!!!! *yanking hair out*
without stats you don't have change in something that is not working. From wait times to where to put a sky train line, a bus route, a highway, a school. Because you wouldn't want a skytrain line or bus route going where the people aren't. People who put decide where to put the bus lines and skytrain lines look at stats of where the most movement of the population is. Without those stats, we'd be guessing.
That's interesting, because you are the one that is always pointing out that our transit system ISN'T working.
Dude. No one is arguing about why statistic is not important. Of course, it's important in life but it has its place. Unless you're working on a project that calls for stats or whatever, you really don't want to be talking about it in real life. Trust me. It's a bland, bland as hell subject and quite a turn-off for most women.

I never said that stats don't serve a purpose. I just said that stats don't serve a purpose for ME! Stats are important, of course, but not for ME, at this time!
It could be expanded and the the long lines at stations would disappear with the adding of another skytrain car. But I didn't come up with that transportation experts on the radio did. A reporter from the BBC asked Campbell why in his green plan the adding of another car on the skytrain lines wasn't on it and he bulked saying that Vancouver isn't high density enough.

You're fragmenting again. I'm not debating whether the transit situation works or not. I'm pointing out that if, like you say, stats are how things get done properly......why didn't they work for this?
I'm also not saying that stats don't serve some purpose.....although I believe it's minimal, because it can be manipulated to serve any agenda. I'm saying it's frustrating to debate an issue with someone who relies on them as a substitute for reality. Someone who will actually say......You COULDN'T have had that experience, because the stats say different.
Someone who will actually say......You COULDN'T have had that experience, because the stats say different.
When have I ever said that? I've said in the past stats just give an idea of what's going on. While they can be interpreted in anyway someone chooses, they're an interpetation none of the less.
Like when they say 1 in 4 will get cancer or something. Does that mean that someone in a family of 4 will get cancer at some point? No. Its just using the cancer stats from the hospital and then divides it into the general population numbers.
Stats just give an overall picture, they're not a case by case. Everyone's is different. For example you want me to give life experiences. Well I've grown up in an all private health care system and its by no means great. The long lines that the politicians here say will happen with a public system are already happening with a private system. My uncle had to wait 2 years for a knee operation. You go to these urgent cares and sit 3hrs in a waiting room. Doctor's have made errors on me while in surgery. I have to live with them everyday. Medical bills are insane.
SD, I think the ladies are trying to tell you that you're too tunnel visioned. You need to take into condideration life experieces and personal preferences than relying only on statistics. You cannot go thru life base on studies or someone else conceptions
Uncle

I live in the same private care system but I have an opposite view. I think its great. If I need to see my personal doctor I'm able to be squeezed in between appointments. When my wife needed surgery she was scheduled within a couple weeks. I have co-payments of $10 to see the doctor and $5 for prescription. I have no complains
that's fine. I have no problem with that view. I just think of the not fully insured folks and not insured folks. A kid I know wasn't insured got in an accident out in the country called a friend, who got their before the cops showed up. She got in the driver seat and he moved over. Anyway the cops believed the story. If she hadn't come he'd be in debt for years the medical bill was around 100k.
Then there's country hospitals which are appauling.
49er you are AWESOME!
Finally, you admit to something, SD! If you admit to being tunneled vision, then why do you CONTINUE TO FIGHT WITH US?!!
So it was right for the taxpayers to pick up the $100K bill?
This is a land of opportunity. I didn't get to where I am today by seating on my ass. And my believe is that if you cannot provide for a kid then you shouldn't have one in the first place
i dunno why pl, it's a habit from living in the midwest that I want to shed badly.

A lot of people are like that. My boss in a higher government organization bases ALL his decisions and creates his own distorted view of reality of statistics. Remember, three types of wrong information: lies, damn lies, and statistics. Stats can be skewed or presented in such a way to argue a certain point of view always.
