Are you the sort that go for toppings upon toppings on your favorite burger? What would you put on a humble burger aside from the patty and two buns? Pick as many as you want.
Are you the type that load your burger or just plain and simple? I prefer mine simple with less condiments.
it wont let me pick all the toppings i like on my burger and a couple of the toppings rnt even listed.. wheres the fried egg for petes sake :))
Yeah I can only pick one topping at a time too... Do I get to make mine a veggie burger too?

Is Elvish even a word?
Elvish is what the Dutch call the King of Rock n Roll.
LOL... Actually Wikipedia says it's a language... [A href="vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvish_languages"]vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvish_languages[/A]
And my elvish name is Linwë Telrúnya... What's yours? [A href="vny!://www.chriswetherell.com/elf/"]vny!://www.chriswetherell.com/elf/[/A]
Turgon of Nargothrond

Lise's poll is fixed.....you can select all the toppings you'd like now. (well.....up to 10)
yogurt that's a new one.
New to me too.
Pineapples ? That's another new one. And frankly I'd have to say sounds quite unappealing.
eh, I could see using the pineapple as a juice when grilling it but not on the sandwich itself.
Hey.....here's a cool hamburger tip.
When mixing up the ingredients for the patties.....instead of an egg to bind it all together, we use applesauce. It eliminates that 'meat loafy texture' and keeps it very juicy and also makes it taste more 'pure' or beefy. (no apple flavour for some reason)
Hm... I tried to edit the poll to allow for 10 votes but to no avail.
Pineapple. Believe it or not, I had pineapple on teriyaki chicken bun from Red Robins. It was not bad.
Ohhhh....I can see it going with chicken......I was thinking beef. Like a burger.
That's where I've seen it before. Red Robin.
I like everything on my burger... though, I'm not a fan of the ketchup, relish, mustard condiments on mine. I love guacamole on mine.
I like everything on my burger. Plus fried onions, saurkraut.
Same here lil me... *bless*
Lise. Pineapple does not go on hamburgers.. and chicken is not a hamburger.
I like everything on my hamburgers..
how I make em..
I get the double thick costco burger patties. Use montreal seasoning as the dry rub. Cook the patties. At the end when cooked add bullseye mesquite bbq sauce. add Cheese, slab of ham. While burgers are cooking, make beer onions (carmelized), eggs and mushrooms. Get hamburger buns and toast.. ad garlic butter onto buns.
Assemble the masterpiece.
Sounds like quite the masterpiece Russ. lol
I'm in to the simpler the better. I like em rare too.....and because that's a no no these days.....you can grind your own beef and cook them as rare as you like. It's only the fillers etc in pre-made patties that are at risk when not cooked to well done.
I remember there was some person on DV complaining that some burger set them back some ridiculous amount like $50 at a local restaurant.. anyone know the place and what it's like there?
Theres a couple of expensive burger places Marik.. but I dont think I know of a 50 buck one...
come to think of it I cant remember all the names of the places anymore, lol.
Moderne Burger
Vera's
Burger Haven (Heaven)
gack... thats all I can remember.
We were walking around Granville Island a couple of weeks back talking about where to eat.
A guy on a bike overheard us and comes up and says "If you want to pay 20 dollars for a hamburger, go to Bridges." I think he was trying to say they were over priced. We never went to Bridges although I have been there.
Morning Schade..
I agree with you that Bridges is overpriced and crappy. I paid a huge amount of money for a steak dinner and the steak was small and round with a other odds and ends on the plate spread out to look bigger and presentable. It was good, but too small for the money in my opinion.. and the waitress was pretty useless as well. Kept forgetting things we ordered like drinks and how we wanted our food.. like no seasonings or salad instead.
OK. OK. I'll retract that bit about the pineapple being on a BEEF patty instead of CHICKEN. Sheesh. I think I caught Russ in a goat-wrath this morning.
Let's see.... so far, lettuce is winning by 9 votes. I guess most ppl prefer to have some kinda green on their lettuce. (Ya hear that, McPUKE??)
You forgot Feenie's. They have a burger there for $50 or so. Ridiculous. I rather be paying for lobster if I'm going to pay that much.

LOL! 'bless'
So what is everyone's favourite restaurant burger?
What do you like Lil Me?
I don't have a favorite yet but I go to Venus Burgers (at this Pub) in New Westminster and order their Big Mouth burger which includes two patties, loads of muchroom, etc.
I also love Red Robin's Guacamole bacon burger and the Whiskey River Chicken Burger... I know, I know, Russ...chicken isn't a burger... :P
I haven't had a REALLY good burger for a while. I like pub burgers. I don't like the White Spot burgers and fries, though I like almost everything else on the menu.
The best burger I ever had was in Deadwood. It was a buffalo burger and it was yummy to pieces.
But for 'regular restaurant' burgers, I'm all for a Whitespot legendary burger all the way.
edit: Except when B.C. Ferries gets their hands on them.
?
There is a place in Winnipeg that I go to whenever I'm back there.
It's called VJ's. It is only a walk-up order window. I've seen people lined up in the middle of winter, 1:00 am, waiting to order.
It has tomato, lettuce, onion, mustard, mayo, pickles and chili.
It's Caturday, so act accordingly, bitches!!

What has happened to kitty's nose?
He got too close to some burning thistles =)
My goodness.... erhm... I don't like furballs in my burgers, please.
My favorite burger place is still (and will forever be) Harveys at HDepot. Yes, I'm a sucker for those outlet. Damn those burger joints!
Has anyone been to Fat Burger? I've heard it's pretty good. There's one in Langley... a friend of mine recommended this place.
I usually like those mushroom swiss burgers with sauteed onions. or ditch the burger and just give me a phili cheese steak.
I've been to Fat Burger (near Stadium Skytrain Stn) and the burgers are just ok. It wasn't that impressive.

Theres a Fats in Van.. Im not a fan of that burger.
EDIT: Drat! Beaten by the loverly miss pl again...
Has anyone ever had a White Castle burger (like in Harold and Kumar)?
yes I have White Castle is big in St. Louis, don't go near it though its disgusting!
It has been a long, long, long time since I had White Castle burger. I think I was in Grade 8 or 9. It was in Malaysia. I've never seen it here and I'm not sure why we don't have White Castle.
As I recall.... the burgers were square and soooo small. Like you can't just eat one by itself.
BTW, Harold and Kumar was extremely funnee!

I like it with special sauce. How come it's not an option?
I'm just curious. Yogurt is on the list. Who would put yogurt on their burger?
People might sub it for mayo ? People who might convince themselves they're eating something more healthy than a burger ? (I scratched my head on that one too...lol)
Bacon!! Whatever else you put on a burger, bacon takes it to a new level.
EDIT: Yogurt???? wtf
My guess is, if you would eat one of these turds, you wouldn't think yogurt is an odd topping.

Veggie Burger ? That's not a burger. That's a....an umm....well it's a.....
OK....in order to establish how one likes their burger, we need to define burger. I think all other 'burgers' made with anything but beef, are usually prefaced by what's in it. Like a chicken burger, or a halibut burger or veggie burger..........but when you say 'burger' to ME, it implies a traditional beef patty kind of burger. *cough* Why do you guys read so much into a burger for crying out loud!! (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/19.gif)
I added yogurt there because believe it or not, I actually came across a site that has that option so I thought, hey, why not. Some ppl might like yogurt as an option.
I've never tried tofu burger but my hubby doesn't seem to mind it. I think he had it from BK once upon a time ago. Said "twas ok"
I worked at a pub once where the burger dressing had yogurt in it (kind of like a veggie dip with yoghurt, mayo, spices, etc. mixed up). I don't think that counts as a yoghurt topping because you couldn't actually taste the yoghurt in it.
Aha! So I'm not crazy afterall! They do have yogurt!!!
lol....Sorry Lise.
what's wrong with veggie burgers?
Costco sells some yummy veggie burgers, if anyone was interested. (green packaging) I've had homemade veggie lasagna and it was delish.
veggie power!
trader joes rules when it comes to veggie meals. They've got this eggplant pasta which is to die for, omg so good. And they've got this greek veggie dish to that is superb.
eggplant pasta...never had that but it must be deliciuos...i like eggplants!
oh this stuff is AWESOME!!!
what's wrong with veggie burgers?
I didn't say anything was wrong with veggie burgers. I was just saying that when I think of a burger with anything but a beef patty in it....it is usually defined by what IS in it. Like you just did....a veggie burger.
I'm just thinking that when you're standing around the grill, and the guy in the 'Kiss the Cook' apron, with a beer in one hand and a flipper in the other yells....How do you like your burger....he's not talking tofu and yogurt. But that's just me.
Oh yeah......I like veggie burgers too.....but it's NOT A BURGER.
For some reason I hate pineapple on a burger. Maybe b/c pineapple has a sour taste. Might was well put lemons on a burger.
I like my burgers like I like my women, plump & juicy. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/9.gif)
