Title: Things that you find fascinating
Post by: Orik on Jul 15 07 01:26
I am currently fascinated how my smite count has slowly climbed
the fact I hardly ever say anything to anyone on here makes it most interesting.

If you are the one smiting me. Please step forward and announce yourself. I would like to know what It is that offends you so much about me or my posts, that you feel it necessary to smite me? 4 times in 4 days?

Sits back and awaits to see what happens next.

[span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; color: rgb(64, 64, 255);"]Maganda[/span][span style="color: rgb(64, 64, 255);"] [/span]means beautiful in Tagalog.  I can not believe I love languages and want to learn them all. Now if only I was a good student. and could remember what those words meant the next day.

did you know that [span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 255);"]Iyakin[/span] means sensitive in tagalog and [span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255); font-weight: bold;"]Iyak[/span] means cry.

Such meanies on DS for smiting Orik.  They have nothing better to do with their time on DS, and just like when they were on DV hassling people, they now go around DS smiting people for the fun of it.

Orik, if you think it was GG that smited you just now, I wouldn't be surprised as you remember he's a 45 (or so) year old man in Australia with nothing better to do than to stalk someone like LouLou and go berserk on both DS and DV when she refuses his pawing  so what do you expect from someone like him?  (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Other/8.gif)

Hmmm..... I just bless you Orik so you can get back 1 bless point.

  I am constantly fascinated by:

  a) well toned guys who walk around without a shirt on a hot summer day (YUM!)

  b) the amount of dust that can pile on top on another in a corner

  c) the way babies and kids grow so fast before your eyes

  d) everyday! I'm thankful for everyday that I'm alive!!!

I LOL'd at this.. cause it reminded me of shopping in China! I would wander into a shopping market there, and would be the only white guy in there. After a few minutes I would notice people following me and watching what I was looking at and getting.. even having a few people openly walk up beside me and check out what I had in my basket.. I even had one elderly gentleman at one point following me and getting EXACTLY what I was getting. I dont think his copying me of getting two bottles of Jack Daniels, one case of Tsingtao, couple one litres of coke, and some sort of chinese beef jerky would impress his wife though.

That's hilarious Russ.....and a good observation Lil Me.  I read an article once, of the percentage of people who 'snoop' in peoples' medicine cabinets when they use the washroom at someones house.  It would seem you're not alone with your fascination.

I find second hand book stores fascinating.  I'll stand and browse the window displays whenever I pass by.  And I love looking at antiques.

medicine kept in the bathrooms? That's a new one for me.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: P.C. on Jul 15 07 09:52
Me too Kitten.  Could waste hours in any kind of second-hand book store.  (did I tell you I found a 'Dick and Jane' reader in perfect condition at a second hand bookstore for a dime?  I was tickled to smithereens)

SD....people keep more than medicine in medicine cabinets.

same here. just that its in the kitchen.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating

That was my first reader in school.  You were lucky to find it at that price.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating

I keep my meds in the dresser in my bedroom.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: P.C. on Jul 15 07 09:59
I guess the soft cover may have given the 'untrained eye'  (lol) a false impression.  It wasn't actually a second hand BOOK store....just a general second hand store.  I checked it out online and it is worth substantially more.  I almost feel like taking it back to them.

Have you ever seen one of those books with the 'scene' painted on the pages that doesn't become visible unless you 'fan' the pages.  I keep looking...lol
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: kitten on Jul 15 07 10:02
I haven't seen one of those in ages.  I did see one old one on an antiques show, but I cant recall what it was worth.  It was in mint condition, never opened.

This poor fellow has really bad thumbs....but he shows it perfectly.  They are most often found on the gold gilt edged books.  This surely isn't the best example I've seen...but he demonstrates perfectly where it's found.  (I KEEP looking)

Seriously SD? Never heard that before? Medicine Cabinet.. Tylenol, Prescription Drugs? I know they show it lots in movies and on TV's too when you see people go into bathrooms to get drugs to OD on...
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: P.C. on Jul 16 07 02:16
Good point Russ.....that's the first thing that came to my mind.....you'd have to have not watched TV EVER to have not seen people go into the medicine cabinet.....in their bathroom.  I've never even seen a bathroom that doesn't have one..... as standard a fixture as a toilet.[/DIV]

Uhm, *raises hands*.  Our cabinet has no drugs.  We keep them in the kitchen cabinet. :)

Yes, I know. I'm the oddball here.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: Lil Me on Jul 16 07 02:27
I don't keep drugs in the bathroom, either....but we still call it the "medicine cabinet"- even though it's filled with soaps and toothpaste and whatnot.  (Oh- bandaids and peroxide- does that qualify as medicine?)
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: P.C. on Jul 16 07 02:30
Same here.....but the 'medicine cabinet' is generally in the bathroom, regardless of where you keep your meds.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: purelife on Jul 16 07 02:35
Yes, most of us do refer to is as the medicine cabinet technically but you could call it whatever you want.
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: Sportsdude on Jul 16 07 02:36
i guess so about the medicine in the bathroom in movies. I just never really pay attention to detail I guess. Mine have always been in the kitchen above the sink.

I heard of this hilarious trick where you fill your medicine cabinet with a million ping pong balls before a party.  Then your snoopy friend gets a surprise when they open the cabinet door!
Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: purelife on Jul 16 07 02:40
LOL, that's a good idea!  Then, you'd know which friends to keep a close eye on.  Nobody should be opening your cabinets without your permission.

I personally don't like it when people snoop around your house looking and touching everything.  Do you have friends like that?
Title: Re: Things that you find fascinating

The funny or maybe the fascinating thing is that keeping medicine, in the cabinet in the bathroom, is the worst place, because u have environmental issues. Some drugs, do not react to heat, well at all and if u like hot, steamy, soapy, showers like myself... well they will deteriorate, faster, than if they are kept in a dark, cool kitchen or bedroom area...

Title: Re: Things that you find facinating
Post by: purelife on Jul 16 07 02:44
Good point SD.  I have no idea where that "medicine cabinet" term came to place.  I never referred to the cabinet as that but do not that that was the name.
Title: Re: Things that you find fascinating
Post by: Sportsdude on Jul 16 07 02:48
Canadian accents. fascinate me.

yeah same here on the term, I just say kitchen cabinet. It also shares space with the bills are kept, along with cheques, wallets and keys.

So its kinda funny the bills are right next to the advil.

Im going to do this at my next bbq.

I KNOW people go through my medecine cabinet.. It was kinda obvious when a buddy asked me for a band aid and his girlfriend said," oh I know where that is, its beside the peroxide in the..." Then trailed off as she saw me looking suspiciously at her.

I keep my medicine and stuff in there. To each their own I guess..  Im curious as to why others keep it elsewhere? Am I missing something?

I run out of space when I keep our supply of  toothbrushes, soaps, shaving blades and toothpaste in there.  I keep the Peroxide under the sink and the bandaids in another cabinet.

Suspend a bucket of talcum powder over the door ?  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]
Title: Re: Things that you find fascinating

hahahah.  I like that one!

Seriously, people snoop in other peoples' bedrooms?  I always feel weird in other peoples' bedrooms- I run in to fetch my coat off the bed and then run out again.  Unless they're really good friends, in which case I lie on the bed and chat while they're drying their hair.

Title: Re: Things that you find fascinating
Post by: Sportsdude on Jul 16 07 05:14
Put a piece of paper in the drawers that say "BOO" or "STOP SNOOPING" or "I'M WATCHING YOU" or the best "Smile, you're being watched".
Or if the computer is in the bedroom make your screen saver a message about not snooping.

Orik, well, I have been talking to you tentatively.  I spent too much time trying to be as certain as I can be that you are who I think you are, but it's too confusing especially over at DV.  As for the last comment on your poems, I meant to say they seemed to me as abstract as pure music or artworks.  Your poems inspired me although I have seen adaptations on certain lines.

There are some other interesting posts and nice people on DS, but it's time for me to go.  Have fun on both DV and DS.  If we have not run into each other again online, we wouldn't find each other again anyway, at least I was in the process to.  Take care!
