SAN RAFAEL – Hundreds of dead goats were piled on the roadside after a truck carrying the animals tipped over.
Authorities said 243 goats died in the accident, leaving a grizzly scene that shook onlookers and officials from the Marin Humane Society who responded to the accident.
The truck was transporting 400 of the animals, which were rented by the Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley for brush grazing.
