What were some things that you have won from draws, lottery, casino, 50/50, giveaways, prizes, contests etc?
I won another lottery ticket once.
I won a TV at a company Christmas party. Lot's of little stuff......but that's the biggest win I can remember.
I won a teeshirt and $25 gift card to the cafe from my company from a draw.
I won a watch when I was a wee kid and thought that was awesome!
Oh.....I forgot the 47 different trips to various exotic locations that I win on the phone all the time. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/frech/c025.gif" border=0]
One 6/49 I played, I matched the first four numbers. I was getting so fricken excited as I was circling the first, then second, then third, then fourth............rats that was it, but I also matched the bonus number. I started thinking 4 numbers + bonus has to be worth a couple thousand anyways.
The bonus doesn't count on four numbers and four numbers is only worth $40.
Another lottery I played was a hospital lottery back in Wpg. First time buying a ticket. I won a Sony cordless phone. Sweet. That was 16 years ago. I've won diddley squat since playing every year since until a couple of years ago.
I could have wone a free magazine by subscribing to ten others. I decided to pass on it.
I have occasionally won ten dollars on lottery tickets.
small amounts from scratch n win/ pulltabs
small prizes from community fundraisers (pub nights, bingo, etc.)
$3000 at bingo
$1300 last friday at Gateway casino
$900 at Tulalip casino
over $40,000 from ICBC
portable DVD player 9 inch lcd
my boyfriend as a personal love slave (anything goes muwahahaha)
I once won two cups which had belonged to Lord Byron, they remain in the box they came in as I am afraid of breaking them.
I have won a night's accommodation at the Empress Hotel including ferry trip. That was a nice touch. Haven't won anything yet.
My mother's won $5,000 based on my passport number. I haven't had much luck using the same number. Blast.
i won purelife's heart once but she demanded that i return it.
a few grand...
mainly on keno avrage wins were 400 bucks...
$1000 on the Extra... 3 out of 4 numbers.
i once won monkee's old clothes and hair. what did i do with them? i cloned monkee so that he'll never be away.... now, ma monkee's gone missing... :((((
Hubby won a trip to Nice for the Formula One, Grand Prix of Monaco. Three weeks, all expenses paid in 5 star hotels, no less. He had the best time EVER !!!
cool!
did you go?
No.....actually, it was within a week or two after his return, that I met him. AND...I met him because of his trip there. I overheard his conversation about his experiences there, and they were so upbeat and positive....on the cusps of my sister having returning from basically the same trip, who had nothing good to say about anything.
I liked his outlook on things......and, well....the rest is history.
woah cool! When did he go on his trip?
It was '91. He still talks about it with such enthusiasm.
Probably because he got to see Senna before he died.
Welllll.....maybe so. I wasn't captured by his blow by blow of the race itself. It was his perspective on the graciousness of the people. Wherever they went......they had a great time. He had a clear understanding that he was the 'guest' in their country. He knew it was HIS responsibility to be understood.....not THEIR responsibility to understand HIM. My sister had a dreadful time, because she was 'put out' that they 'didn't make an effort' to understand HER.
lol about your sister. The french are like that but their rude stereotype is a little unjust in my opinion. They just have a lot of pride.
The French are rude arrogant asswipes. Wouldnt recommend anyone go there.
Well, I've always believed that for the most part, you get back what you give.....and that was what stood out to me about him, and what kind of guy he was. That was not his experience at all. He took an extra 3 weeks while he was over there and toured several countries. He found people to be friendly and helpful wherever he went.
I've been to a couple of countries and was treated with kindness and politeness wherever I went. You do get the sort of treament you give. I wouldn't feel obliged to treat someone nicely if they kept insulting me and making demands. So why should they?

[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"]Awwwww....that is just the sweetest! You definitely have a keeper! :)))
Talk about winning! That's the biggest win of all.
Exactly. I totally agree with you kitten! What an excellent win-win situation.
winning what?

[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"]You will know when you're in a relationship. :)
Winning a fantastic life partner, SD. That's the luckiest win of all.
ah I see. I'll get a girlfriend. My goal is to have a gf by christmas lol.
Be picky, though. Go for quality in a relationship.
I will :)

LOL .... I would like to know what you're considering the alternative, quantity, be?
Congrats to you for becoming an Admin.!
49er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long time no see! How could you just leave now!!!!!!!!!! (//forums/richedit/smileys/Sad/2.gif)
I always thought that quantity eventually turned into quality. ;)

ROTFL!!!
Sorry for the absence, but it was so hot in the apartment even with all the fans going that I went outside on the patio for a few minutes. It really is like sitting in a sauna in here. Besides, with rain coming tomorrow I wanted to get the chairs and BBQ covered.. Thanks, SD and purelife for your congratulations on my promotion to administrator. From what I unserstand, it's somewhat like a sewer cleaner in its importance. Both have to clean up the stinky stuff to keep a place running smoothly. I'm glad I was asked to do it.
The Mod Squad. ;)
Really its hot up there?
It's reading 28C in my apartment. I find that to be excessively hot.
That's not comfortable for sure.
A neighbour gave me a small fan the other day. I just finished setting it up at my feet to cool them off. It's awfully noisy though. If it gets to be too much I'll be turning it off.
they make quiet ones. :)
I have quiet ones, all of which are turned on right now. This was free, but very noisy.
ah, I never grew up with a house without a/c. The people who do here, end up on the news as heat fatalities.
When I grew up there was no such thing as air conditioning. You wanted air, you opened the windows. But the heat wasn't as intense as it is now.
Yeah heat was the only thing that held up growth in Florida for years until the invention of the a/c.
My high school didn't have air conditioning and I couldn't concentrate it was too hot. took the air temperature in the upstairs hallways and it was over 105 F without the mass of students at their lockers.
That would be totally unbearable!
yeah it wasn't pleasant. Think of a sauna in temperature wise with no air moving what so ever.
I can't use a sauna because of high blood pressure and a bad heart. I pass out in them very quickly.
yeah I can't stand the sauna's either, I start getting breathing problems and I don't have breathing problems, although when it gets really hot outside with high humidity I can't breathe. hmm
Did somebody win a sauna?
No, we were just talking about the heat and humidity here. Again, a misplaced topic. My well-organized soul shrivels at the thought of yet another hijacked column.

well I won a college acceptance letter and considering my education record that was like winning the lottery.
lol Kitten. Just ignore me. I feel exceptionally cheeky tonight. I don't know what's gotten into me. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/liebe/g038.gif" border=0]
I've won a good family to grow up in.
It's some of that spice you try to avoid, P.C. Nothing wrong with being cheeky.
I think it was the gravy. I don't usually eat gravy, but I achieved gavy perfection tonight. It was most delectable.
Lunch thread!!!! LOL
I have never been able to make gravy. I've tried and failed miserably. Now if I want it I buy it. No hassle. Not nearly as good tasting, but still gravy.
I know how to make chicken broth.
add chicken broth.
Chicken broth is easy. Take a chicken, drag it through some water, add a lot of salt, can it and sell it for a lot of money.

I won an old dude in green rubber with a giant banana hammock.
Just in time too; my bicycle has a flat tire.
You are SO lucky!
