Title: Clap on! <clap clap> Clap Off! <clap clap>
Post by: Lil Me on Apr 16 07 10:08
Does The Clapper actually work?  Does anyone have one?  Have you seen one for sale lately?

I keep falling asleep reading with the lights on, so I could probably use a Clapper.

I can roll over my glasses (titanium frames), but it's damn annoying sleeping with the lights on every night!

Lil Me....I'm wondering if a clapper is what you really need.  If you're falling asleep while reading, would you not fall asleep so you could clap? If you're conscious enough to applaud before falling asleep, you'd be conscious enough to turn the light out.

I don't know if this would be any MORE helpful, but hubby got me one of those adapter things that plug into the outlet that turns any lamp into a touch-on, touch-off. (for the very same reason)  You barely have to move.

and what about if someone else is sleeping beside you, and if you start clapping, would you awake him/her while you are clapping? hahahahaha... I also think that on-off "touch" lamps are better for you

OMG. No I wouldn't buy one. I can just imagine the kids using that to piss me off. Besides you can probably loose more calories by getting up and walking to the switch.

lol, Lise.
I read somewhere that you can burn 150 calories an hour by banging your head against the wall!

Which reminds me, having sex on bed with clapper on is also good. The lights would go on and off (when smacking bottoms) thus informing the entire household (and neighborhood) that Daddy and Mommy are having a good time.

FYI: Calories burnt off during sex. [A href="vny!://www.c4vct.com/kym/humor/csex.htm"]vny!://www.c4vct.com/kym/humor/csex.htm[/A]

HEy Lil Me.

You can get those Light switches at Home Depot for around 25 bucks that have an on and off, and then four other buttons to push that gives you the light on a timer. I was actually thinking about one of those for my place, put it on for two hours and itll go out at that point.. after you are asleep.

Crap. I was just at home depot and i was going to take a pic for you with my camera phone.. I forgot sorry.

Ill see if i can find the one im talking about online.

They alos have programable light switches that come on and go off on a preset program.

Dont get the ones that are motion activated for your bedroom, kitchen, or living room. My buddy put them throughout his house because he's 'green' minded. A week later he was trying to get rid of them. lying in bed and everytime you roll over the lights would come on, in the living room sitting there watching a movie and you had the lights go on and off.

Home depot has these and I remember them being cheaper than what they have on the website. Home Depot online catalog sucks the hairy one cause its not the american one.

Theres a bunch of different options there.

I was looking at the pushbutton timer ones. You can get them for up to two hours.
