Holy crap 5-4 in quadruple overtime.. anyone else watch the whole game? I won't be able to wake up in time tomorrow...
yeah.. took them enough f*cking time to do so.. holy fawk!
but they won.. after giving them the fourth goal, i mean come on. Were they sleeping on the ice there?
I was listening in, but I gave up the ghost in early overtime. Luongo was outstanding. Hart Trophy?
I was asleep at the end of the third. I wanted to watch it, but my eyes wouldn't stay open. Twas a long day yesterday.
Go NUCKS!
Er...... am confused. What's happening? Are they in the play-offs? Are they playing for the Stanley Cup? The only thing I heard about the game was that they were unable to sell tickets off.
Last night was the first game of the first round. Tonight its Detroit vs. Calgary.
anyone see the last overtime intermission where kelly hrudey was counting the paramid of beers cups. i think he ended with about 15ish cups?
Ya a buddy had tickets and I was lucky enough to get invited...my first Playoff game I had seen and it turned out to be the longest game in Canuck history...we stayed right till the last cheer, which was long after the last beer but it did get eassier to get to the can...Nazy looked really good, Bulis but it was more Sedin magic that brought down the house in the end...whata game
Yup, wasn't able to get up in time today. So you're supposed to check-in at the office if you're late, and when I got in there to write my name down, the entire sign-in list was filled with the excuse: "slept in" The office ladies were confused as to why so many people were late today until I told them there was a Canucks game that went past midnight... geez I thought everyone watched hockey here.
GO CANUCKS GO!!!!
I watched the entire game on Versus. sweet!
Luongo is a machine 72 shots, 72 SHOTS!!! THAT'S CRAZY!!!
It was my first live playoff game...almost six hours...
Then on the local radio stations they talk about changing Hockey ie 4 on 4 in OT or shootout....nah. leave that for Soccer, there are very few games that go on that long and by the 4th!!! period of overtime, half of the people had to leave 'the Garage'... last train back to Clarksville in the burbs..
No more beer after the 2nd period helped to clear out the place too...the nervous 'nuckers prolly left the game to nervously guzzle beer while watching it in one of the local pubs?
But three Canucks were sidelined by that battle royal.
DAMN IT!!! SHUT OUT BY DALLAS 2-0 AT HOME!!!!!
Here's a familiar chant for all the upset fans (like me): [a href="vny!://www.sendspace.com/file/cl9gv2"]vny!://www.sendspace.com/file/cl9gv2[/a]
30 seconds in Dalas scored. I stopped paying attention after that
LOL....gotta say .. that I stayed and watched the canucks get whooped...LOL..sorry sports fans...I am a leafs fan...and they are longtime out...so I will stop and observe the canucks getting beat...teehee!
OMG? What the HE**??
You like the Leafs?
Total LOSS OF RESPECT from Devil! (just kidding its all in fun).
Sorry, I would cheer on Afghanistan over the Leafs.
WOOOOOOOT
CANUCKS WIN!!!
LINDEN SCORED!!!! 2-1 CANUCKS; MITCHELL MAKES HUGE GOAL-LINE SAVE!!!!!!
CANUCKS 3 DALLAS 1 IN SERIES, NEXT GAME IN VAN!!!
The fans at game 5 better cheer LOUD and set a new NHL noise record!!! (Edmonton holds the record I think.. around 120 dB)
GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
flippin' sweet.
The Stars are going...going....
Woot, time to finish them!
I want to see it crazy loud on the TV tonight!
i'll be listening to the game online at 11pm but as in previous games will fall asleep midway... (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Other/9.gif) woke up in the middle of the night for marathon game 1 and couldn't believe they were in triple OT??
lol starfish u could of been up for breakfast and watched game 1.
yeah, i know eh? the OT game reminded me of the game 1 of the Rangers/Canucks back in '94 when McLean was invincible.
hmm vaguely remeber that series. Listened to it on the radio though. The big local station here used to broadcast the cup finals.
woooot! Sens are blowing out the pens! Ottawa going to the second rouund!
Ack. My crystal ball is telling me this will be another long night.
the ice looks really bad for some reason.
OT time
crap. Morrow at 6:22.
darn get them Saturday.
Canucks? NHL Hockey? am I right?
yup
this mornign when I got up I turned on a TV and I saw some NHL game at CNN but I can't remember which teams! There were only four teams, something like Final-Four or something like that.
Bullshit goal. Blast!
Saturday it is..
We blew our chance for an easy finish and time for the guys to relax before the next round. We HAD THEM.
AHEM...Stars are Going...going....(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Angry/3.gif)
You got to admit, Turco vs. Luongo is a pretty cool thing to see.

It would have been even better if at the end we would have won. LOL, Im not even looking at the bright side at this point.
Hey.. didnt your local team win last night?

Yep, they won. My gf was doing backflips, jumping up and down and tearing apart her pillow in excitment. I was ok with that.
But this Van-Dal series is giving me gray hairs!
Calgary has to prove it can play like the team at home and not on the road before I can say it has a shot at beating the Red Wings.

yep, that is the way their whole season has been.
I think whoever comes out of the Canucks/Stars round will be pretty worn out to take on whoever is next. always hope I guess.
Red Wings are gonna stomp Calgary.
Oilers are usually the stronger team than the Flames so Im surprised they are this far.
Not sure if they will whomp them, although I am sure Detroit will come on top. Flames are one of those teams that know how to fight when their backs are against the wall.
Nothing against the Sens, I kind of wish the Pens fought a bit harder.
Why so much booing in Ottawa against Crosby? Mr. 'Future face of Canadian Hockey' for the next 15 years!
Because Crosby is a punk diver/fake penalties. He deserves to be booed. He's cheap.

Thats True.. Ive heard that before.

You really think so?
Ive got a buddy that has lived here most of his life and bought a home in Coq now.. Hes origionally from Edmonton and is still a die hard Oilers fan (he flies out there for major games, his gf hates it), and still talks about stuff there like hes a local. Drives me nuts!! Edmontons so great over Vancouver? Great! I think you should act on that.. get outta here! lol.

So was Gretzky!
Crosby has only done that a couple times. He will be the key member Team Canada representing Canada at the Olympics, the World Hockey Championships.
He is talented, Ottawa people are asstards for booing him!

Really think so what? That the Flames will fight? I think they will...but will still lose! hahaha!
The Canucks will make it to the second round..(I hope to Gawd). But they will be pretty tired. Hopefully adrenaline prevails!
Oilers are a classic team too. I am all for Western Canada. (just Nucks first).
Most of the Ottawa fans are Habs fans.
Sworn enemy of Hab Nation number 87.
Every time I see the kid on tv he's acting more then a soccer player on a dive.
He's like this lady on skates:
[a href="vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5JCN4dulvU"]vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5JCN4dulvU[/a]
He is young and still learning. He is under Lemiex's wing. Give him time to grow up!
Also, who had more points than him in the regular season? Oh, yes, NOBODY!
Devil wrote:

I actually meant do you really think that Crosby is the future face of Canadian Hockey. LOL
Totally Russ!
What other Canadian player is at his level at his age?
Russ wrote:

Either way, diver, or not. I think people who boo loudly, someone from the same nation, everytime they touch the puck, need a hard glass mug across their jaw.
Its not just Ottawa mind you. I am just not big on the Sens.

Oh I agree with that.. but I think he might burn out early.. look how much he's putting in now, sure he's good! But will it last?
Doesn't matter to Habs fans. Crosby wants to fight them all. Everytime he comes to Montreal he just rips the habs players, fans, city of montreal and Quebec. He's ticked off an entire mass of people. And its his fault.
True Russ, time will tell.
I wish the best of all the Canadian stars.
My prediction SJ/Sabres in the final. Sabres in 6.
He pissed off the Quebec Nation.
even the anglophones.

Well, the Habs have a lot of time to golf now and think about poutine.
So does Sid the Crybaby lol
I used to love to watch him but now I only seem to watch him for his acting.
Thats cool. Sports is all in fun. Either way, win or lose, the Canucks and all other teams will get paid on time.
I never worry about Quebec getting offended. It happens everyday.
*SNEEZE*..Excuse me, I just sneezed, I am sure Quebec will be outright offended now over that now..great!
hahahaha
Everything is Lost in Translation when it comes to Quebec.
Crosby isn't even one of my favs. I just hate booing a fellow Canadian kid.
I am more of a fan of Joe Thornton, Joe Sakic, and Briere.
Hey, good Canadian boys on every team! WOOOT!
i hate prongers wife, stupid st. louis chick
bah it shouldn't matter if the person is Canadian / American / Russian / whatever ... if you don't like them, you boo them! Even if they are from the same country as you are.
And I can't believe the Canucks lost last night....
You boo them is you are a classless CLOWN! Marik!
OK, WE WILL TRY THIS AGAIN...
STARS ARE GOING....GOING....ARRRGHHH!!!!!
what is with the Front Line?? They had such a good regular season!
WAKE UP SWEDISH SISTAS!!!

Whatever pens freak, you just like Crosby too much.
Yeah the Sedins need to do what they did in the regular season...
According to Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas News, the Stars are 'guaranteed' to win tonight.
Wow! I wish I read all of his predictions, I would just bet everything on him and I would never lose...I love guarantees!
What a tard!

[DIV class=blogHeadline]Dallas News: Stars will win[/DIV][A href="vny!://www2.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/teams/Van"][img class=blogIcon alt="" src="vny!://www2.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/images/Van.gif"][/A] If a Game 7 is needed to decide a winner, it's because a series is so closely contested, either team can come out on top, right? Well, not according to one writer in Dallas who thinks the Canucks don't stand a chance against the Stars Monday night.
Mark it down. It's going to happen, according to Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas News ...
The Stars will beat Vancouver and become the first team in franchise history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit.
Trust me, I know it sounded laughable a few days ago because the Stars were sleep-walking through the series no matter how much Tippett begged them to play with passion. The notion of a Stars victory in the series seemed silly because their offense was bad, their power play was worse and they needed to beat Roberto Luongo, the league's best goalie this season, three consecutive times.
Now, it seems like a certainty.
The Stars controlled Game 5 and dominated Game 6. The Stars are the deeper, more talented team. And when they play with passion, the Canucks can't hang with them.
The Canucks have been without heroes the last two games. You'd have to look on the back of a milk carton to find the Sedin twins, Trevor Linden or Markus Naslund.
It's not going to get any easier for Vancouver. The Canucks must do more than beat the Stars. They must overcome a history of failure.
Vancouver has lost six consecutive games when it had an opportunity to clinch a series, including Game 7s at home in 2003 and 2004. It blew a 3-1 series lead against Minnesota in 2003.
The Canucks' recent history of failure, combined with their body language the last two games, leaves absolutely no reason to think they won't blow another 3-1 lead. But it's up to the Stars to finish the series.
They must be the aggressor in Game 7 and make Vancouver doubt itself.
It won't take much.
Not after Alain Vigneault publicly ripped every facet of his team, essentially calling them cowards for their failure to compete in Game 6. Still, you know Vancouver's towel-waving fans will create an intensity in their arena that will energize the Canucks.
The writer is from the Dallas Morning News. hmmm homer much?
OK Canucks... 7th game... let's see what you're made of!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First peiod had me cursing.. lots o' hyphenateds. Couldn't win a draw and looked sluggish.
Second period looking better but winning the battle on the boards won't do you squat if you don't get SOMEONE IN FRONT OF THE NET.
I'ts ok, I'm settled down now and ready for the third. Go 'nucks!
woot!
I couldn't watch most of the game, kept thinking about the school. lol
fell asleep in the second so I missed the tying goal. And was downstairs on the go ahead goal.
WOOOOOAH!!!
YEAHHHHH BABYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4-1 CANUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANAHEIM HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the orcas are hungry time to chomp on some ducks.
I was happy! Didnt expect them to win.. especially after the 1st period!
But I do have to say. There was ALOT of penalties against Dallas, sure changed the mentallity of the game.
Sweet win! wOOt!
Very cool...and lucky!
Its awesome, Van got shutout 3 times in that series, but still won!
Ducks will be bigger, harder hitting, faster than the Stars, Canucks need to take it up a notch or 2!
Wow! Pronger looked like a Mack truck hitting mosquitoes last night.
Luongo (and all the Nucks) needs a good rest.
