Title: Einstein tried to be a high school teacher??
Post by: i wish on Apr 10 07 10:32
did you know that Einstein tried to become a high school teacher after he graduated college?  and then tried again four years later?  i was delighted to hear that such a genius valued teaching as well as being a scientist.

Really!

I never knew that.. interesting. That would have been a twist if the great Einstein would have taught HS and not gone on to do what he did.

relativity and quantum mechanics.  actually, i'm more interested in how he chose to live his life.  his parents let him free after graduation.  he wanted to be a teacher and believed that freedom fosters creativity.  if his parents were controlling.  the world would not have known about bending of light, relativity, quantum,,  photons.

Interesting.  So society be damned, let your kids be creative?

can't be creative when the kids aren't taught anything in school just constantly tested on meaningless crap. (no child left behind - you spend half the year preparing for a test you don't teach them anything else)

He never graduated from school, I think. I wonder what one would say if you were given the chance to see him in person?

I'd probably say, "You should sue Star Trek for stealing your ideas."
