[/p]Researchers compared the blood pressure-lowering effects of cocoa and tea in previously published studies and found eating cocoa-rich foods was associated with an average 4.7-point lower systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure reading) and 2.8-point lower diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number). But no such effect was found among any of the studies on black or green tea. [/p]Cocoa and tea are both rich in a class of antioxidants known as polyphenols. Thanks, TB! I was going to hide all the Easter chocolate in the freezer with the Halloween and Valentines chocolate...but maybe I shan't now.
No wonder I have the blood pressure of an infant. DARK CHOCOLATE.....wOOT !
ill believe it years down teh road. they always say this is good for you then 5 years later they say its killing you.
I came across this - or something similar - a couple of years ago, and as my blood pressure is high, I've been drinking cocoa several times a day; I've also heard that red wine can help.
Old news rehash. It's always the same old, same old. I've been hearing about this for ages. It all boils down to one thing - moderation. Too much chocolate is not good for you, obviously. Dark chocolate is by far, the best but no one wants to taste bitter chocolate without sugar or milk.
