The BBC is reporting that scientists claim to have discovered a technique to [a href="vny!://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6517137.stm"]convert all blood into Type O[/a] with the discovery of an enzyme that can strip the A and B antigens. This has implications to transform the stored blood supply into transfusable blood for all, since anyone can receive type O blood without risk. It does not address the RH negative issue, however.
Excellent. It's a good thing. The next step will be in creating more blood without humans to donate them.
or humans which don't require blood?
Im type O.. does that count? lol, they used to call me all the time to come donate until I told them I work overseas.. they stopped harrasing me then.
