Anyone won anything yet? I won..... nada to date. Sometimes I think I have to buy the big ass cuppa just to get something. Medium size just don't cut it.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Sad/1.gif)
I always wondered if the employees would secretly steal some of the cups to try and win a good prize. Or, they roll up the rim before, and if it says 'sorry try again', they carefully roll the rim back down and give it to customers.
Hey Marik...long time no see... ;)
I'm pretty sure that you're right about how employees roll it up to check for themselves. I mean, employees already do this with lotto scratch cards. They scan every one of them to see if it's a winner and then give that card to their friends and families. WHAT A SCAM!! So, someone like you and I will only win like up to 10 bucks or something because all the larger prizes are given away. That's wrong!
employees have been and never will be eligible for these types of games and if they pull anything they're fired for breaking their contract.
That's why they pass it on to their friends!! Their friends or family's friends can get away with the winnings. If there's a will, there's a way.
they can't even do that either. If I worked for Tim Ho's, I'd be disqualified, by mum, dad, sis, grandma, cousin, dog and cat are also disqualified.
Plus it's 'no purchase necessary'
Here are the rules from the tim horton's website:

Revealed inside the rim will be a "Win" or "Play Again" message. A "Win" message will describe the specific prize available to be won. To claim your prize, refer to instructions which follow, but to be eligible; all prize claims must be received by May 27, 2007, the contest closing date. *NOTE: In the United States, the cup sizes are referred to as "small", "medium", "large" instead of "medium", "large", "extra large" respectively.

Employees of Tim Hortons franchisees as described in this paragraph are limited to those employees who are providing services in any way to the Tim Hortons Store. "Immediate family" is defined as parents, siblings, children or spouse.
Hey purelife :)
I'm pretty sure employees still give the winning cups to their friends (they're not disqualified, right?) and they would secretly split the winnings 50/50. Sounds like a good way to get around the system to me...
I never go to Tim's. I like Timmy's, but there isn't one in my neighbourhood.
I like their bagels.
Family are disqualified, that I know, but your friends are not, SD and I'm pretty sure, like Marik has mentioned, that the staff split profits with their close friends. I know that immediate family of employee is disqualified. Anyways, thanks for posting the rules.
Right....... like I really want to read the rules. Sheesh.
How the frack do you roll it back? I have a hard enough time un-rolling it with my teeth plus trying not to spill my hot tea.
finish the drink before you roll it!!!
I've won a free coffee this year.
Free donut last year.
that's IT! boo hoo
someone invented this thing just for people like lise...
[A href="vny!://www.rimroller.com/"]vny!://www.rimroller.com/[/A]
you can get one at lee valley. it rolls the rim for you!!
(//vny!://www.rimroller.com/images/animation.gif)
That's funny kingy. We picked up a couple of those at Lee Valley on the weekend. I have a friend who's a Timmy's fiend.
funny. it sounds like an invention for people who use letter openers and have dedicated miniature pickle tongs.
bah- says the person who organized the kitchen drawers this weekend and threw out a whole bunch of shite: candy thermometer (never been used), egg timer (don't boil eggs), rusty knives, and waaaay too many measuring cups and serving spoons.
I want one of those, lol. Just becuase of the toy coolness factor.
what teh heck is a candy thermo Lil Me?
I also threw out a bunch of older cutlery.. but I wish I had more measuring stuff, Im going to have to buy some more soon.
candy thermometer= used to measure liquids at near thermonuclear temperatures- such as deep frying or cooking syrup for making candy. And I do neither.
Cheap measuring cup/spoon sets at StupidStore. That's why I had too many....
[img style="WIDTH: 61px; HEIGHT: 54px" height=49 src="vny!://www.rimroller.com/images/animation.gif" width=120] Damn!!! I gotta get me one of those!!

Seee!!!! Im not the only one!
Russ, man... it's like the greatest invention ever invented apart from the tampon.
yes, what did females do before the tampon?
It would be like turning up the crankiness up a notch!
I think they wore cloth (before pads). Lots and lots of cloths. Then wash.
Won 2 coffee's in 2 weeks, odds of winning something big, only good if you are 2 young girls that originally throw the cup away in the dumpster. (//forums/richedit/smileys/9.gif)

Yeah? I actually never checked there.. I will have to, thanks! 'bless'
Winners and Homesense has really nice stainless steel ones if you're looking for a good set, Russ, at a fraction of what the fancy cookware stores charge.
At winners? I never thought to check there, thanks PC.
I detest buying at cooking stores. I always end up buying too much and pay too much for little hunks of plastic.
Uhm, what do you have to buy, Russ?
nothing really important. just need more measuring utensils.
The last set that I owned, I used on fish chemicals so... um, yeah. I cant use them anymore.
Hydrogen Peroxide will disenfect ANYTHING. Then, you can reuse your measuring spoons/cups again. ;)
Yeah, but if Ive used them a couple times for the fish already I might as well buy another newer set for cooking with.
I use hydrogen peroxide for cleaning myself when I start leaking.
too much information
