What's yours? Mine is my eyesight. If these were ancient times, I'd be long dead by now (trampled or eaten).
Allergies. My nose doesn't stop running in the spring/summer months.
My eyesight as well. I'm up in the minus 11/12 for power and extremely high in estigmistm (sp?)
Whoa, PL. You're like me! Do you need put on glasses to talk on the phone 1st thing in the am, too?
I guess my knees.
If I was born in Sparta I would have probably been deemed 'not spartan' enough at birth and killed. (Spartans did that if a baby had deformities or defects or something).
True! SD would be such a big baby they would know to make armor for him they'd have to stitch two sets together and thus he would be a burden to the spartan military :(
I have no self control, but thats hard to see when you're looking at a baby so maybe they would have let me live.
Talk on the phone in the am? I don't talk on the phone in the am.
I just put on my contacts. I wear glasses in the evening to relax my eyes. :)[/DIV]
Speaking of contacts, how do you put them on and not blink? I can't do that. It feels too weird. I can't even go for an eye exam without flinching.
Chocolate is my other weakness too.
My upper body strength is extremely weak...it's embarrassing. :( but, i'm working on it. :)
oh major weakness my vertical is 8 inches. Which explains why I can't dunk at sea level (went to colorado up into the mountains and I could air is lighter up there)
I dunno Lise. When I first put contacts in, I had no problems and ever since, nothing. I think that we were meant to be. And I hated wearing glasses. I had these gawd-awful glasses my mom thought was nice. NOT!~
ever thought of lasik? My cousin had lasik and he can't believe the results.
purelife, glasses or no glasses, I think you're pretty hawt. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)
I haven't worn any glasses yet, don't need them. Kinda scared because I know I'll need them somewhere down the road.
you're stunning as well Lise :)
My coworker brought these magnifying glasses from Costco for cheap. I had put them on and small words really jumped out at me. They were awesome. :) I'll have tell my mom about them because her eyes are starting to strain as well. :)
I don't think that you'll need heavy glasses like me, Lise, probably -1 or -2 that could be brought from Superstore for under 10 bucks or something.
Lasik? No, I'm not taking chances and messing around wth my eyes like that EVER!

I try not to, either.
But I can't hear without glasses or contacts. (? I know...)
I went for years wearing only contacts, but I love my current specs. Titanium frames with Nikon lenses. Very light, considering most lenses for my level of correction are like Coke bottles. Need to get new contacts (rigid gas permeable). My current ones are so old they hurt (literally). I only wear them for sports these days.
[/div]
what's everyone's eye sight?
mine is 20/20 but I'm sensitive to light.
can't remember- but really freaking bad + astigmatism.
+ I have unrelated spatial difficulties (drafting, drawing, parallel parking, reading 3D building plans, figuring out which sized plastic container to put the leftover spaghetti in...)
I also buy these reading glasses at Costco.....they come three in a pack (and cheap). Never carry reading glasses on me but I have these all over the house and several at work.....real convenient
My weakness is my tolerance for booze. I hardly drink anymore and booze hits me hard when I do. I don't mind though, I am glad I don't drink a ton. A few brews now and then don't hurt either.

have you tried accupunture? I found it helpfull........it didn't completely made my allergies go away but it reduced it, I would say, 90%

Wow, I've never heard of that. That's interesting. I've never had that problem because I remember being woken up by the phone and answering it and can talk with no problems. I wonder what that is. Hmm, I'm kinda curious now.
I don't know what my vision is, SD. I only know the power level and it's extremely high, that and my estigmistism. :( I've been wearing glasses since Grade 1. :(
egmistim (sp)
isn't that when you are given glasses early in life and your eyes don't develop or something? They become weak? I'm confused.
I have alot of weak points! lol.
I keep becoming allergic to more stuff, I always have to take allergy medicine. I have to take puffs for Ashma. I have to get a b12 injection every month if I want to have any energy at all.
I am very clumsy and fall down alot, and I usually end up breaking something or pulling something when I do fall. I have extra sensitive skin in which has allergic reaction to alot of things. I can't wear earrings or necklaces, bracelets, rings or watchs for long periods of time or I get a reaction. I have to be careful of what cream or makeup I put on my face because I am allergic to alot of that too.

Hey Sparkleface. :) I used to be like that when I was younger. I was such a clutz and to this day, still is... I bruise easily and would come home with bruises that I didn't know where I got them from. :( You know what helped? I started to build my confidence and self esteem up. I let to many people pick on me before that partially made me clumsy. Another thing that I worked on was my core stabalizers. I had to learn how to balance. I still suck to this day though. :(

No. I can't say I have entertain this idea. Needles and me don't exactly see eye to eye although I would take an epidural anytime anywhere. Maybe I'll give it some thought. I've heard only good things about acupuncture. Thanks for the suggestion.

I bruise all the time! But I don't get picked on though, only by my brothers.lol. yeah, I suck at balancing. The last break was when I fell off the bus and broke my knee....That was SOOO embarssing. lol.

Dude if it's 8" when vertical, imagine what it turns into once it's horizontal!
You DO need to learn how to use it mind you, other than trying to dunk it at sea level.
And no, it's NOT considered weakness BTW... [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/e058.gif" border=0]
Purelife, i've had lasik eye surgery. i highly recommend it. i was blind as a bat. I'm talking -7.5 and -8. It's been twelve years. I currently 20/25
glasses are super sexy.
my eyes were -10/-11 and i had lasik done. i was scared to death since it was such a high degree.
my right eye is now 20/20. my left eye is 20/30 which isnt bad i guess. the only problem i am having is at night. i still get the halos/ghost effect. this was done 2 years ago and i think it will be with me for the rest of my life. i pretty much have a really hard time with bright lights in the dark because of this. im pretty sure that it isnt safe for me to be driving at night.
during the day, and on sunny days, i can see super clear.
Hey Kingy.... mine is worse than yours by a power or two, plus I have high estigmitsm. I've heard about the halo after-effect from corrective surgery. Driving at night is important to me so, that is why I would probably never have eye surgery. It's far to risky! There is no way in hell that I'm going to have someone mess with my eyes. If the procedure was free, I still wouldn't do it.
Too much imagination.
???? what do you mean?
I spend too much time anticipating problems, especially those which are unlikely ever to arise.
In reference to corrective eye surgury, Gopher or in general?
In general.
I have glasses..dyslexia...pitbulls...and a bad temper...does that make me hoopdidoopal? How about weak? LOL...I am happy...and that makes me STRONG! Plus...I ate my wheaties! LOL
I'm not in the habit of doing this, or perhaps it's a weakness of mine, but if I see a word being consistently misspelled I finally jump in and write the correct spelling:

Aw. Thanks, kingy. That makes my day!
I too was blind as a bat ripper. I also had the lasik and I'd do it again in a heart beat. I'm losing clarity now, but it was about 7 or 8 years ago and I think I'm on the edge of needing glasses again.
I'd highly recommend it purelife. I went to Dr. Lin and he is a genius......on Broadway I think....Pacific Laser Center. He's the one the EYE DOCTORS go to.
seriously? I too am scared of laser eye surgery. (what if they screw up?)
So- no weaknesses left, P.C.?
I sure wouldn't go to any 'bargain' places for my eyes. As hubby's been in the optical business for years and years and years, he did a lot of research before we made any decisions.
Aaaaa....weaknesses you say. I don't know if it would be classed as a weakness, but I'm a terrible procrastinator.
Sorry to hear that P.C. Wearing glasses sucks major ass. I.m surprised that your eyes changed so much. How old were you when you had it done. I was told not to have it done until i one was thirty and change.
I probably won't consider laser until a few years from now. My b/f has been nudging me to go....when I'm ready, I'll post a thread about it so that I can seek your experiences and others. :) Pacific Laser...got it. :) I'm still very freaked out about anyone zapping my eyes.
ripper, I was thirty plus some paper money. When I got mine done it was over $5000. It's come down a lot. I'd worn glasses since I was 6 and contacts for YEARS. I actually had to not wear contacts for a year before I could get it done. My corneas were very damaged from them and they couldn't do it. It was worth every penny twice just to see clearly for the length of time I did. (I had no idea you could actually SEE leaves on trees....even with glasses or contacts, I had never seen things so sharp and crisp before)
purelife......Dr. Lin taught others the lasik 'surgery'. You simply won't find anyone better. It's painless. The most difficult part is being still.....that's not so bad.
How long was the procedure? Did you experience any after effects? ie. not being able to see in the dark? glows in the dark? I'm still very scared because my power is really high.

The procedure was about 20 minutes. I did have some pain afterward, only because I didn't use the drops when I should have. Once I did, it was smooth sailing. You have to wear eyepatches to bed the first few nights, just to protect your eyes while you sleep. Other than that......no after affects except the marvel of being able to see clearly. I watched TV the evening I had it done WITH NO CONTACTS OR GLASSES. It was amazing. My power was really high also. Apparently they have more total success with a large correction, than they do with a minor correction.[/DIV]
To be human is to suffer weakness.
At times my spirit falters when I think of the multitude who shall fall to the Great Whale's dark embrace and never taste the sweet joy of paradise. Yet I persist in my faith, and it nourishes me. For was it not written, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard-seed ye shall say unto the mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove?
I'm wondering exactly where that was written. Are you making that part up ?
