This is interesting, but I can't help thinking what happens if this guy gets hit in the head- wouldn't these implants be likely to cause a more severe injury than if they weren't there?
[h3]Subdermal implants: body-mods that give you cool lumps

Quinn Norton profiles the body-modification practice of subdermal implants, through which substances like molded silicone are slid beneath the skin to produce raised, shaped lumps. [a href="vny!://bmezine.com/"]BMEZine[/a]'s Shannon Larratt -- whose site and work often appear here -- is featured in the story, which covers the connection with this work and implanted RFIDs, and why the plastic surgery establishment won't touch it.[blockquote](//vny!://craphound.com/images/wnheadimplants.jpg%22%20align=%22left%22%20height=%22224%22%20width=%22231%22%5DThe%20process%20creates%20a%20raised%20area%20on%20the%20skin%20in%20a%20shape%20of%20the%20artist's%20choosing.%20The%20effect%20is%20dramatic:%20Implants%20can%20be%20most%20any%20form%20you%20can%20think%20of,%20from%20Star%20Trek%20ridges%20and%20small%20horns,%20to%20little%20stars%20and%20hearts%20sprayed%20across%20the%20chest.%20Many%20people%20with%20body%20modifications%20have%20combined%20their%20implants%20with%20tattoos%20to%20create%20often%20beautiful%20or%20terrible%20effects.%5Bhr%20style=%22width:%20100%;%20height:%202px;%22%5D%5Bdiv%20style=%22text-align:%20left;%22%5D%5Bb%5DYeah,%20just%20try%20and%20get%20through%20airport%20security%20with%20that%20one....%5B/b%5D%5B/div%5D%5Bimg%5Dvny!://ly.lygo.com/ly/wired/news/images/full/bodymod4_f.jpg)

Something tells me he's had a knock or two about the head already.
I've seen pictures of men and women that implanted stuff in their genitalia....scary if you ask me, but I think it is a response to all those mechanical whirling and rippling sex toys so they figure if you can't beat them, join them!

LOL, yeah that would explain it.

I dated a girl who had labia rings, and I've got to tell you that they have a tendency to get snagged on stuff at the worst possible moments, and the result never seemed to fall into the category of "things that felt good" for either of us. They were sexy, but kind of impractical.

Word, sista.
The most attractive thing a guy can do with his noggin is stuff it with information.

I took mine out after three years for exactly that reason. Yeeeowch!
I saw a show last night where dogs were getting "neuticals" or something. Implants for dogs that have been neutered so that it looks like they still have balls.
Wierd.

That arm looks like a giant case of ringworm. Ugh!
not suprised since now people are getting butt implants.
I really don't get it
headline in 3 years.
"body implants cause cancer and related tissue diseases, millions sue"
what a stupid thing to do to one's body.
How about a conscience implant for Bush?
Yeah apparently his response to the supreme court decision on git-mo was a giant 'f*ck you'.
