Nah, parties aren't for me.  I'm not a party-goer and the other reason is that I rarely get invited to parties because I have a tiny circle of friends and almost all of them don't party.

The only thing that I like is having lots of friends for dinner/lunch or going to someone's place to hangout and such.  Rarely does it involve alcohol.

I'd rather stay at home, lay in bed while surfing the tv instead or read a book.

I like being social...unfortunately...I don't have a lot of patience.  That then creates an issue when planning for a sitter...finding clothes to wear...sometimes doesn't seem worth the effort.

Can anyone explain to me the karma thing that is under my name?  + and - and why?  How do you get + and -?

Hey Pitbul.

You can bless or smite anyone here.  I have just blessed you.  You can't bless yourself or smite.  :)

If I was comfortable around the people I'm with at a party, I'm verrrry socialble and likeable.  If I'm not comfortable, I'm dead quiet.  Are you the same too, pitbul?

That's me in a nutshell.

When I am super comfortable around a group of 4 or 5 then I'm very social.
When I go to a party that has more then that I'm a 'wall flower' which means I stay in the back near the walls and tend to only talk to other 'wall flowers'.
If I go to a party where I do not know anyone I'm dead quiet and shy until maybe the end of the party when I start to get a little comfortable.

I sorta need to go to parties because I gather if people beg me to go, then there are other people doing the same for other people at the party.  I'm not really out going when it comes to meeting people.  I tend to 'run' into them.  Surprisingly my dating life is the same way.  Girls tend to just run into me, I don't rarely go after them.

yes...if not comfortable...probably don't have anything nice to say.  So of course..if you have nothing nice to say...don't say anything at all.  LOL...hate doing any party by myself though.

I don't call them parties so much where I am from...they are more like get togethers.  If they are labeled as parties...there are pre conceived assumptions.  I like the whole...beer...coolers...bbq thing.  We are also child friendly with a trampoline outside and a movie room inside as well as tons of toys to play with. In my city...friends usually find the same issues....finding and paying a babysitter....so if you can take your child or children with you...then it is easier.  Relaxing because you aren't worried about all the other stuff.

I like to host parties. I dunno. Even though I keep complaining to no end, I love hosting parties because it's a chance to get together with friends and touch base. Plus it also gives me a chance to test my dishes on my friends. They've been my guinea pigs over the years.

I do like to go to people's parties for the same reason, minus the clean-up on my part. Plus the kids love to meet other kids so it's a chance for them to start socializing.

Yeah Lise my parents only started hanging out with other people there age with kids me and my sister's age growing up.  Every couple of months or so the 5 families would get together at someone's house and we the kids would play downstairs while the parents had a quiet party upstairs.  Good times.  Too bad everyone started moving away.

You still keep your dogs on a leash in your backyard? Is your back yard not fenced and gated? Or is it not adequate?

We just let the dog out into the backyard cause its fenced and gated, he runs around and pees on my things then comes back in.

Russ-  the yard is fully fenced.  Pits are notorious escape artists.  The run line runs the whole length of my back yard.  I only have one pit that will jump the fence though...so...for my protection, the dogs protection, the neighbours mental well being...the dog doesn't get left loose in the yard as she will hop the fence and galavant through the neighbourhood.  My other pit and german shepherd have full run of the back yard...lots of room to roam as they don't hop the fence.  I have a front yard and a back/side yard.

my backyard is electric fenced so the dog and cat can move around with ease.  My cousins though don't use anything but then again their yard is 200 acres of hills, trees, a pond, a lake and a forest.

have your dog and cat had any accidental run ins with the electric fence?  My yard is probably about 1 acre alltogether.   I don't own this home..so...fence modifications is out of the question.

The beeper on the collar beeps when they get close to the fence.

oooohhh...I C!  My yard is too big for that.  Would be costly to put  a system in like that.  I have heard about a story of a guy that had a fenced yard with the same system.  He had a pitbull...the dog saw something that it did or didn't like ( pits have a high pain threshhold) and he jumped over the fence.  Well...the guy..not thinking....went and got his dog...and went to put it right back over the fence where the dog had jumped....and was attacked by his dog because the collar was zapping the dog as the guy tried to haul it over the fence.  Harsh eh?

We are looking into this for my parents place in the island. Elecrtric collars I mean. Their house is on a beach and they cant fence in the property at the front or rear due to local bylaws... and they dont want to have a small section for dogs only.

Have done a whack of research and the cheapest place to get it is Wallyworld. They say to buy a training book with it so you can learn tricks to help your dog understand where his boundaries are so they dont get shocked all the time.

I thought my dog would never adapt to it because he's not the smartest dog in the planet but he loves to be able to waddle around the yard and not be on a chain.  Its actually made him obiendent.  He used to go relieve himself in the house. Now he doesn't lol.

Depends on the party.

Company parties - NO!

Party with friends and/or family, YES!

Oh yes. Party with the boss or company functions.........not very comfortable. Seems like you have to put out a fake smile and pretend to be happy all the time.

I always enjoy my company outings and get-togethers.  If it's something that involves something physical, ie snowshoeing, skiing, and such I'm all gung ho to take part, but when it includes parties at the pub/restaurant, ah-no..it can get boring as everyone is so darn clicquey.  We have one coming up in April at some lounge place in downtown to celebrate the RRSP season.
