Title: The New Insanity: Copywriting dance moves
Post by: TehBorken on Feb 05 07 06:16
Yep. The "creator" of the Dance move known as the [a href="vny!://ric06379.tripod.com/id6.html"]electric slide[/a]  has [a href="vny!://news.com.com/Electric+Slide+on+slippery+DMCA+slope/2100-1030_3-6156021.html?tag=nefd.top"]filed a DMCA based takedown notice[/a] for videos he deems to infringe and because they show "bad dancing". He is also seeking compensation from the use of the dance move at a wedding celebration shown on the Ellen Degeneres Show. Next up, the Funky Chicken, the Moonwalk, and the Hustle? More seriously, does the DMCA have any limit on it's scope? This is just utterly ridiculous, more greedy pigs in search of the Almighty Dollar.

It's going to be tricky to copywrite the Moonwalk.  They were doing it back in the 30's.  I remember watching a documentary about dance, and it show clips of Cab Calloway doing it.

That is such an impressive move.  I like it.

A clip showing Cab doing this in 1932.
