Title: Bush Claims Mail Can Be Opened Without Warrant
Post by: TehBorken on Jan 04 07 10:52
Incredible. Is there ANYTHING this maniac considers off-limits?
[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"][a  href="vny!://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2003508676_mail04.html"]President Bush claimed new powers to search US mail without a warrant[/a]. He made this claim in a "signing statement" at the time he signed a postal overhaul bill into law on December 20.

The signing statement directly contradicts part of the bill he signed, which explicitly reinforces protections of first-class mail from searches without a court's approval. According to the article, "A top Senate Intelligence Committee aide promised a review of Bush's move."

He lives in his own imaginary world, where everything he does is right and everyone else is wrong.  Weird person.
