Title: Yahoo Takes Down News Boards

Wow, kind of from the 'not-thinking-ahead' department if you ask me.

Yahoo! has [a href="vny!://news.yahoo.com/page/messageboards"]taken down their news message boards[/a]. According to the message from General Manager Neil Budde, 'As they were set up, the Yahoo! News message boards allowed a small number of vocal users to dominate the discussion. In addition, related discussions from similar news articles were not easily linked.'

He also says 'Over the next few months, we plan to offer new discussion forums based on topics in the news and incorporating the latest features to foster a better discussion for all of our readers.'

Okay, I can understand wanting to fix the boards so they're more useful but to take them down for months before a replacement is released?

So.. they are complaining about people having influence over what is being reported? Are they mad cause they cant influence more what people read about?

Yahoo does not care about people. Much like DV, it's the $$$ that counts at the end of the day.
